Unexplained and unwanted seat change
 
Flying tomorrow from LAX to SYD. Booked and assigned myself seat a nice aisle exit seat way before 3/3. Even after 3/3, appeared that my seat was still there. Suddenly today I checked and not only am I out of that seat, I am assigned to a non-E+ window seat instead of my declared preference of aisle. Now I can’t change that seat. I’ve tried to change it myself to another, slightly better not as nice as before seat, and it will not stick even though it appears to save. I go back to the reservation and it returns me back to the non-E+ window seat.

I call the 1K line and they are not able to help at all as all they see is the seatmap completely blacked out even though the booked number is far short of capacity. He literally tells me there's nothing he can do or see. Check-in is hours away, I'm thinking it's my last hope.

WHAT IS GOING ON!? Not only did I get dropped out of my seat, I’m assigned to a seat I don’t want, and can’t make changes out of it. This seat change is not a change I will like. I hate it.

UAInsider: Simple question: There are dozens of reports of 1K's NOT being on the upgrade list on the day of departure. What is going on there? It is extremely frustrating that 100K mile flyers cannot just get an answer (even if it is "its broke") to such a fundamental part of the program. I know you are buried with issues but If I were to stack rank the ones causing the most ill-will and stress this would be #1. Can your team address this issue? If you came back and say "Sorry, 1K's and GS's are now not eligible for gate upgrades but everyone else is" that's fine...I can deal with facts but the "theories" we are seeing and lack of a direct statement is making this much more stressful than it needs to be.

Same for me today. but no thanks to UA - they just fixed their own screwup. The fact they were not able to trap this during testing is deplorable

It looks like the Fare Class link has returned to existing itineraries...very helpful. However, it's got a small glitch.. if any bucket has 0 inventory it is just omitted altogether instead of saying Y0.

My PQM is back... But PQS (less important to me atm) went from 26.5 to 2

I still haven't had miles post for my 3/5 flight.. Is anyone else in the same boat?

My PQM's were fixed this morning but now some of my segments have disappeared. It seems whenever they add miles/segments from a new flight, something goes awry.

It makes me wary about making a new reservation - will it do something to the current reservations, most of which transferred fine except...

do I say anything about the 23 hours my reservation now reads that it will take to fly from Munich to Prague (they have me landing the day after I leave), although the SFO-MUC leg is correct. The LH reservation still reads correctly on the LH website, as does my confirmation email from UA, so I feel I shouldn't bother at all. Calling seems useless. Would it matter if I left it as is on on new website?

Yes. Still waiting for two segments on 3/3 to post, and the SWU that did not clear on 3/3 to be returned.

When I type in my ticket number it says "Credit has already been applied"-- no it hasn't. What to do?

So ZK (Great Lakes) codeshares show up in the .bomb timetable, but if I try to make a reservation using any of several I've tried (PGA, CNY, CEZ), .bomb says there are no flights. (For that matter, Expedia and Orbitz no longer show the UA codeshares on ZK flights, either.)

I also lost ZK segments from an existing itin.

I'm guessing this is another glitch.

UAInsider has asked in the first message of this thread that we PM examples. And, while we're lower on the priority list, this is happening to platinums (and likely gold and silver) too.


Complimentary Premier Upgrades (CPU). Some flight ranges were initially being skipped. This has been corrected. If you see additional examples of flights not clearing, any details you wish to send via PM appreciated (updated 6:40a, March 8)

For its reservation system, the combined companies dropped the United Web-based interface for a command line interface that runs on Microsoft DOS. And the outcome is what you might expect. Aggravation, anger and a very public indictment of using legacy, antiquated software at the expense of your customers and employees.

I really had to read this twice, as I could not believe I was seeing DOS.

I got a hold of reservations (via the 1K #) with only about a 3 minute hold once I got past the IVR and its issues. ^

Res agent said it looked like the service had been discontinued; I said ZK is still flying it, and US and Frontier are still codesharing it, and wondered if it was just integration-related. The agent typed away for another 5 minutes, said, "I think I can fix this," and added the ZK flights as ZK (not as UA codeshares since the UA codeshares are all missing), and reticketed.

He did warn me to "keep watch on your reservations" as he's had to correct several lost segments already.

iPhone app issues
 
The iPhone app now shows/does not show...

Shows: "Year to Date Premier Points" instead of "segments" :confused:

Does not show: Half segment count as I have correctly have 14.5 segments in my MP Summary but the app shows 14.

Also, any chance of bringing back lifetime miles to the iPhone app
