{UA} we’ve decided to discontinue the program as of April 23, 2019.

5 April 2018 -- UA started posting an "expiration date", appears to be at least 18 months after most recent activity (some are longer for unknown reasons)
also states
Some of your United®TravelBank Cash may expire on a different date than what’s displayed here. Please check your balance details for a complete history of your United®TravelBank Cash transactions and the expiration date for each amount.
Expiration had previously been in the T&Cs for some time (2 years of inactivity? but now is 18 months) and had stated an ETC would be issued if the funds did timeout. Unclear if that still applies.

The Gift Registry has been disabled since Fall 2017 (Sept?) (appears this may be related to a tax issue?)
As of 5 May 2018, it still states
We're sorry, our gift registry page is currently unavailable for maintenance. You can still use the funds from your gift registry to book travel during this time, but you will not be able to receive contributions or update your registry details. We expect the page to be up and running again in early 2018.
Around Sept 2018, wording changed to
We're sorry, our gift registry page is currently unavailable for maintenance. You can still use the funds from your gift registry to book travel during this time, but you will not be able to receive contributions or update your registry details.

It does work flawlessly, unless the PNR gets divided. In those cases, you have to decide how much time you want to invest in chasing down a missing $5. I've been chasing $15 credit for almost three months, and another $5 for just over one month. If I were smart, I'd probably let it go. My time is definitely worth more than the money I'm chasing. I think I'm sticking with the chase because I think that insisting on getting the missing credit may be the only way to encourage United to fix this problem for the future.

I have now received my missing $15 in credit from April. Oddly, the account reads:
Current Balance:
$75.00

Available Balance:
$60.00
Not sure why the $15 is not yet available for use.

It was the Continental club when I last had t call. I have no idea what number I called. A lot has changed since then.

Finally received $15 in missing credits... $10 from award tickets that didn't credit, and $5 from a split PNR.

While it's a pain that it doesn't work right, and annoying to wait for the credit, it's pretty straight forward to get it. Just send a list of eTicket numbers and confirmation codes for ones that didn't credit at http://www.united.com/premiervoice/. Took forever, but I only sent it once.

As a plus, since it was taking so long, I got a $150 cert.

Now I just have two more credits that I'm missing from when I was rerouted on AS. Don't know how that one will turn out. Still waiting on my miles and baggage fees for that, too. I expect a reply in another 3 weeks.

I'm on the phone with web support with the same issue, about 30 minutes now.

I'm trying to book a flight to BKK in December, so not the cheapest time to travel there, with one ANA segment involved. Agent told me my travel bank balance, from my gift registry which has what I consider a significant amount in it, can't be used for codeshares. I told her I don't see anything about flights needing to be UA/UAX only as on some e-certs, and nothing about codeshares. I'd think also that since the ANA flight is ORD-NRT and is not just a codeshare, but ATI, it shouldn't really matter - UA doesn't even have to provide them with revenue.

Anyone been able to use this on a codeshare?

Also, if you need to cancel a ticket paid for in whole/part by travel bank funds, am I right to assume its done the same way as a regular revenue ticket - amount of ticket would just go into "inactive" reservations, with the full value being available once you pay the change fee.

Travel Bank feature on "new" website?

Agent wasnt able to clarify why I wasn't able to use it on a codeshare - her and her super both don't see it in T+Cs, then gave me a number to try which is Chase - maybe they run it. Called back, second agent basically said they can't manually apply travel bank credits, and that if the website doesn't allow you to, then it can't be used. And then again, gave me the chase number.

Im wondering if the way to get this done is to call back, and get them to stay on the line while I book all UA-metal flights online using the credit, then have them change it (for free) to the flights I want. Anyone think this would work?

Current Balance and Available Balance Discrepancy

I have a quick question... My TravelBank is showing my Current balance as $25, which is the correct balance, but my available balance is showing $20

The $5 discrepancy has been like this since my credit from the BOG trip posted a week ago.

I used my travel bank balance on a trip that I had applied an ecert, because that option was available. Don't do it! Your ticket will get stuck in ticketing.

They had to remove the travel bank amount and promised it would return to my account. Three weeks later it still wasn't there, so I emailed 1Kvoice. I received a reply this morning advising me that it should be back in the travel bank within a week...but if not there by Wednesday next week to reply to the email.

I did suggest that if you cannot combine items, the option to apply the funds should not be available and on display during the booking process.

I see this every time a flight posts to the account. But usually it disappears within a few days. I always just figured that it would be available when the miles post to my account. Have the miles posted to your account?

Mine credits have always posted when the miles posts. The same was true for the BOG trip... I'll give it another week or so then probably will follow up with UA to see what is the root cause.

Sigh. Used $30 from my Travelbank. For some reason, reservation hadn't ticketed in 12 hours, so I canceled it and rebooked it. My credit card wasn't charged for the first one, but my Travelbank hasn't been refunded yet.

Got a quick reply from Premier Voice to send an email to [email protected], but from the reply it was clear they thought I was just missing a $5 credit, they didn't actually read my email and see what I was asking. Forwarded that along to the other email address yesterday, but not expecting a quick resolution.

The second booking ticketed in under 5 minutes.

So I have a question on this. I know if I book two one-ways (instead of a RT) for myself I'll get $10 instead of $5. But how does the credit work with multiple people on a reservation? If I book 2 oneways for both myself and my wife do we get $20 total?

Thanks in advance.

yes
United.Com Club FAQs

If I purchase a ticket for another person, do I get the credit?
Yes, as long as you are signed in when you make the purchase. A $5 united.com Club credit will be deposited in your TravelBank when travel is completed on any ticket purchased at united.com.

I agree with this. I keep in mind that if I have United on the phone, I'm costing them $10-$15/hour in paying whoever it is to talk to me, and only by making the cost of manually fixing whatever is broken greater than the cost of making it work correctly automatically do I have any hope that it will be fixed.

Also, on general principle, I view it like negotiating with terrorists - if you give the terrorists what they want, you'll get more terrorist attacks. If you just take it whenever a company screws you out of seemingly small change, they company will just keep screwing you.

$15

Your $25 annual membership fee gets you $5 back on every ticket you purchase at united.com.
