Update 14 July 2013: Recent reports indicate the unofficial status match programme is running smoothly again. TK will only match Star Alliance Gold, Skyteam Elite Plus and Oneworld Emerald members. Other, more exotic, gold card holders are out of luck. Please report your experience in this thread.

I am requent flyer/FLT on LH without any special color, just the basic one. Is there anything TK could match or is it a waste of time to ask?

A 2013 reminder:
If you check out http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/turki...2012-a-19.html, post #272/the 2nd one down, you'll see that user OnAMileHigh kindly uploaded a photo of the TK mileage card printing booth in the international terminal of IST. I first noticed it on transit there a couple of months ago, and perhaps a moderator could make that post a sticky?

If true it could be any number of reasons:
- US customers "freeloading" into domestic US/UA lounges but not crediting to TK
- Other *A carriers not liking the fact that TK was poaching their *Gs
- It was always meant to be time limited (but we weren't told)
- Too many applications to make commercial sense
In any case all that is pure speculation.....

Personally I am suprised that they allow one to use the benefits of a program while crediting elswhere... I got TK match but also credited the flights to TK while using the star gold benefits...
Just seems logical... Maybe they could do a status challrnge for new customers instead of stopping all together...

perhaps, speculation is that LH will become the largest shareholder of TK.
