Looks Like Clear Lanes are Returning

Now it appears those customers will get a break. Kurtis Fechtmeyer, an investment banker based in Emeryville, Calif., said on Tuesday that his new investment group, Henry Inc., had signed a letter of intent with Morgan Stanley, the defunct company’s largest debt holder, to buy its assets and reopen its fast-lane security service, called Clear. Mr. Fechtmeyer said his group thought it could bring back the service as soon as this holiday season. It will offer former Clear members, some of whom had paid for years of the service in advance, the option of rejoining with their membership intact.

I wonder if there will be some sort of deal for those who got credit card refunds? (Fool me twice...etc., etc.)

I never subscribed to CLEAR, but would be even less prone to do so in the future, based on CLEAR's closing shop--why wouldn't this happen again?

I'm sure it would, but it didn't hurt me last time, and I found it very useful.

I have had a couple of 30-minute waits at security in the months since Clear's closing, which is just long enough for me to reminisce about how great the service was. I would love for Clear to return to SFO!

I would be very pleased to have Clear return. No hard feelings, just let me skip the insanely long lanes at IAD and all is forgiven!

Would our memberships continue from the point where they left off?

Some travelers swear by the Dulles Diamond lanes. I've been lucky enough this year to get by with the premier line, even after the relocation downstairs (and the stupidity of not splitting off the premium pax line until after the escalators down to the security area), but have kept the Diamond lanes in mind as a fallback in case it's ever the sort of nightmare I know it can be at IAD.

I think I had like 2 weeks left in my membership when they shut down, but would be glad to sign up again.

they may need to buy some new gear. i have seen clear equipment carelessly and haphazardly set aside in hallways and other unused corners of a couple airports. didn't look to have been treated well at all.

(BTW, i hate clear and hope it NEVER comes back)

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring CLEAR back. CC info ready to go.

I had paid with my AX, should I have asked AX for a refund? Should I still bother to do it now or is it too late?

I am also excited. Hopefully, they'll also buy the Ready2Go registered traveler program as well. I'm not sure I was ever able to use the line in Reno.

Were it to come back would the new entity be able to use the previously secured private info? I thought that there was some issue with that and the previous policy preventing it from being sold.
