I fill out the Customs form anyway, in case the machines are not working (as it will be required in that instance.
In two transits through IAD and one through ATL, I have never been hassled for any forms, merely presented my kiosk recent and sent on my way. |

Agreed, this is awesome. I was through IAD today in less than two mins.
Question: do you or do you not have to fill out the paper customs declaration form when using GE? You answer the customs questions at the kiosk but the customs agent at the end of the hall seemed confused that I even used Global Entry and told me I still had to have a paper customs form. (This is contrary to the Customs and Border Protection website information that says you don't need a paper copy.) Any recent experiences? |
I had a similar experience when arriving at JFK earlier this evening. Successfully completed the kiosk process, retrieved my receipt and proceeded to the customs exit (no checked baggage). The agent asked me for my customs form even after I showed him my Global Entry receipt, and told me to "have a customs form every time." Hopefully these glitches will occur less frequently with time.

"You will be required to answer the Customs Declaration questions presented on the kiosk; however, you will not need to complete the Customs Declaration Form (CBP 6059B) before arrival." |
That is the one thing I wish they'd add to nexus.. not having to fill out those blue forms :(

Just used Global Entry at ORD yesterday -- no line at the kiosk, no waiting .. took all of 3 minutes. ^ Totally worth the application process.

As of 6/1/09...not in place at SFO. No sign at all of any kiosks or any signage. Made me feel better about missing my interview at ORD on my outbound connection.
The times I have gone through non-kiosk immigration after getting GE, I get asked no questions. I guess Trusted Traveler status shows up when the scan the passport. Usually I at least get a "what was the purpose of your trip" or "did you buy anything while abroad". Now, nothing. A belabored "welcome home" maybe. |

[QUOTE=stimpy;11783132]Huh? According to http://www.schiphol.com/AtSchiphol/P...terPrivium.htm
What's the porblem? :confused: You can sign-up for FLUX which includes both: Who can apply for FLUX?
My read of the rules is that you are eligible for FLUX. Am I wrong? |

Who can join Privium? You can become a Privium member if you: - are in possession of a passport from one of the countries in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. I live in Europe, but am a US citizen so it seems I can't be a member of either program. :(

Sorry, to be more clear I can't sign up for it remotely. And the only airport I visit in the US is LAX which doesn't seem to have Global Entry. I don't know if it is possible or not as an American living abroad.
2) You can apply as a US Citizen living abroad. (Only US Permanent residents have to prove they live in the USA). 3) You can sign-up for FLUX which includes both: Who can apply for FLUX?

See: https://www.flux-alliance.eu/signup_procedure/signup/ My read of the rules is that you are eligible for FLUX. Am I wrong? It seems to say I can pick up my GOES card at Schiphol, but I'll believe that when I see it! |

No, it seems you are right! I can't sign up for Privium directly, but I can get it anyways with Flux. And GOES as well! I just did the application so I'll see what happens. I got an email response saying it will take up to 6 weeks to process and to follow "this link" for status. However there is no link in the email. :rolleyes:
It seems to say I can pick up my GOES card at Schiphol, but I'll believe that when I see it! As a reminder, GOES is not a trusted traveler program, nor a "card." GOES is simply a web-based application system that you can use to apply for various trusted traveler programs, including GlobalEntry, NEXUS, SENTRI, and FAST. |
