Well, in fairness, it MAY mean that you have to schedule the interview when it suits YOU. I.E., when you are somewhere other than MIA or when you can make a weekday MIA appt. Should be doable if you care enough. If not, then oops, sorry.

That was my point. I live outside the US and this is my only trip home in the next 60 days. I tried calling today and no answer on Sunday so far - not a good sign they're actually open on Sundays.

Got to use the new 4 finger scanners at MIA on Friday (023 July, AA 2170, BOG-MIA). Worked a lot better than the single digit one.

Great service!

I thought there was a DHS office in AMS for the new reciprocity with Privium and Global Entry.. maybe see if you can schedule there?

I applied for GE last night.
I have NEXUS, but I still have to schedule an interview :(
It says "Conditionally Approved"...
I thought it's approved automatically with NEXUS...
Is that because I'm a permanent resident?
It looks membership is free once it's approved, though.

Correct. The Privium lounge can be called at:

+31 20 601 4222

As far as I heard, the DHS guy is available between 09:00 and 14:00. So give Privium a call and see whether you can get an appointment in AMS.

Cheers,

GenevaFlyer

Were you fingerprinted for NEXUS? If not, its probably a fingerprint appointment.

I got NEXUS two years ago, and I don't remember...
They can get my fingerprints from my green card!
Yes, it says they will capture my fingerprints and take a photo of me.

I had an INS-pass kind of thing back in the mid-90's. AFAIK, it went away (the pilot program). It was at JFK and a few other airports; they did a palm/fingerprint scan, IIRC.

I was reading the pdf file with the instructions for applying for Global Entry, and they require you answer if you have been in a "CBP trusted traveler program" in the past. Does something from so long ago "count" as a trusted traveler program? Not sure if I can find/remember the number if it does.

TIA...

I am in the exact situation as mauiUAflyer. I have read this thread but don't see any reply. Does anyone know what happens if we have had an INS pass in the 90's (the kiosks were almost always out of service) but don't know the number? Was it a "trusted traveler program"?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. I was a heavy user of INS Pass, mostly at LAX where it worked very well, but it was established pre-9/11 and the formality of a 'trusted traveler' didn't exist back then.

I answered "no" when I came to this question, but I probably won't hear about my application for a couple more weeks.

I'm trying to schedule an interview for Global Entry, and the only choices I seem to have a non-airport locations on the Canadian and Mexican border.
Does anyone know how to access the airport locations?

(Yes, I applied for Global Entry, not NEXUS or SENTRI.)

Update:
LAX CPB couldn't help. Gave me the number for GE Support Services, tech pointed out the scroll arrow. Boy do I feel dumb. (Well, there is no scroll bar...)

Appointment scheduled.

extremely efficient

my entire process from application to Global Entry approval was exactly 7 days...

Applied online 7/1;
Got my "Conditional Approval" on 7/3...
scheduled my interview for today (7/8).. and got my approval "sticker" and instructions.

friendly interviewer/officer

very well organized process...
well done CBP!

have my next int'l flight in Aug.. can't wait to use the system LIVE. ^

I had an interview at LAX yesterday.
The officer found something wrong with my Alien number during the interview.
He asked me if I was deported before
It sounded somebody stole my Alien number and is using it
I got a sticker on my green card after the interview anyway.
Today I saw mine is approved and ready to use :)
I guess they fixed the problem. It was good to have the interview to find that out...

My experience yesterday @ MIA

Wow... Global Entry really makes you feel like a VIP!

Arrived yesterday @ MIA in the midst of a rush... there, the Global Entry kiosks are set well before you reach the main bank of immigration officers.

Anyway, I went up to the machine, did the thing, then got my ticket.

With some trepidation, I showed it to one of those private security people who are in charge of yelling at arriving passengers. Amazingly, she looked at it and immediately said "Come with me, sir!" Then, she started telling everyone to step aside and walked me right up to a busy immigration officer (while motioning for me to stay back a couple of feet). She interrupted him, showed him my receipt, he looked at it, looked at me, and bam-- I'm through!

Next stop was customs-- lots of people attempting to exit. I had the receipt in my hand and one of the private security contractors spotted it as I approached the queue. Amazingly, she took the initiative to follow her as she barked at folks to move out of the way... then walked me straight up to the front and handed my receipt over.

Next thing I knew, I was outside in the arrivals area.

Global Entry is awesome!
