Interesting, I had an opposite experience.. After stepping off the escalator and heading towards connections, I made a left immediately after I entered the big room with the customs booths. The GE kiosks were right against the wall, while the customs booths were towards the exit area. After getting the receipt, I walked behind all of the booths and handed in my receipt...

Ditto, it must have changed. At IAH I was literally 5 feet from the booth my family used, while I was processing my GE.

I think one is talking about IAD arrivals, and one is talking about connections. In arrivals, they're all the way against the right wall and you then go straight to baggage claim. In connections, it's the left side and then you walk behind all the booths after getting your ticket.

But IAD gets big kudos for the best setup. They now have nice, big permanent signage in place directing you to GE, and a totally separate lane with a 'swing gate' you go through to get to them. ^

Yeah, I was in arrivals. Don't know about connections.

Unless something came up on yourbackground check (which seems likely given the time and runaround) and you are now on a list, your passport alone is fine and you will join the masses

Passport Card?
 

I've applied and going for my interview in a few weeks. Is it worth also bringing my Passport Card with me or does this system only work with full passports? If I travel to Canada, I'd rather just take the card with me.

I think the passport card is for travel between Canada/USA and Mexico, I might be wrong on this. Your passport is for International travel and that is what you will be using GE for so take your passport with you.

I'll definitely take my passport. I just wasn't sure if the Passport Card was designated as GE also. I guess not.

Is GOES a free addon for Nexus/Sentri Users? If this is the case, it begs to ask why Goes cost me $100 and then Nexus cost me another $50.

I saw a Sentri card this weekend (identical to Nexus) but says Sentri at the top vs Nexus.

this has been discussed, no they aren't included .... nexus includes a check in canada which is not relevant for GOES but if you have nexus, GOES is a slam dunk process to get approved

As has been said before many times, GOES is not an add-on to anything. GOES is not a trusted traveler program. GOES is simply a web application system used for applying for various trusted traveler programs, including GlobalEntry, NEXUS, SENTRI, and FAST.

Passport Card is only for land and sea travel. Global Entry is for air travel and for all air travel you have to carry your passport book. Earlier I just possed the question if instead of inserting my passport if the passport card would work. I have yet to try it or ask CBP if its possible to use it just for identification purpose at the machine.

I have my passport card listed because I had it on there for my nexus membership and when I applied for Global Entry it just used my nexus application for my Global Entry application. I will research the topic and let people know what I find out.

Came in last night on MX 802 (MEX-ORD), arriving at 7:30 PM. CBP had one of the two halls closed - and the one that was open was a mess. The lines were wrapping all the way out to the main corridor. We came in near the closed hall, and an officer was directing everyone to the other side. I asked if I could still use the kiosk (I could), and it took less than 30 seconds.

Bags were offloaded immediately after I got to the belt (but mine were the last two). I stood there the entire time and not one person off that flight had made it through immigration by the time I left.

Must have saved me half an hour or more. ^

Came into DFW last week on AA 79, was pretty quick this time. Still think it's worthwhile.
