There is no reason for them to keep your passport. I did fly into Washington, had my interview and continued on to Zurich. Returned 4 days later and did use GE. If for some reason it does not show approved yet just stay in the regular line.

I'm in the process of applying, but live in Nashville which has no local GE. Will I be able to interview here or will I have to arrrange the interview when I fly to a GE site like PHL?
You can begin the application online via GOES from anywhere in the world with a web connection. If you receive conditional approval, you will be required to schedule an interview at one of the GlobalEntry enrollment centers anywhere in the country. You will need to show up in person so that the officers can interview you and scan your fingerprints and passport. So, you might want to use the time awaiting your background checks to clear by starting to think about which GE office you might like to visit. Could make for a nice long weekend trip! :) |
PHL GlobalEntry enrollment center
Does anyone know if the PHL GlobalEntry enrollment center is behind security or outside of security?
Thanks |

At IAH yesterday I was able to get front of the line benefits while traveling with non GE family, including infants. ^^^ They had me use the machine and processed the fam at the same time. I tried that at JFK about 10 months ago and it was a no go.

Well I beg to differ

Ciao, FH Any ways, this was a nice first experince considering that our strollers were at bagagge claim and the line in front was about 150 people deep. Could have taken 20 minutes in immigration line easily. At least they had waiting charis at baggage claim but no such facility in immigration area. |

Its a little strange because I arrived at JFK terminal 4 from a 13 hour flight from Dubai about two weeks ago along with my wife (TTP) and two infants (non TTP) and we took the Goes kisok route but asked a supervisor that we need to be processed TTP and she sent us to the first available IO. Were out to baggae claim in about 6 minutes leaving plane, but baggage claim was another 20 minutes to collect. The customs officer who collected the card at baggage claim asked "what took you guys so long". I said "baggage".

For example, I was one of the initial apps at IAH, back when only three airports were testing it, and I was told I could not add my Official Passport in with my tourist one. Now people are being told they can add multiple passports to the system. Hopefully, the traveling with family front of the line pass is now standard too (as I noted it was many months ago at JFK). I love the programe. I tell them that everytime, and they usually smile and say they do too. Ciao, FH |
Just a question?
This is just a thought on my part to see what the collective wisdom thinks.
I am a Nexus nember who is also a Global Entry member. When I applied for Nexus I listed my passport card and my passport on the application. Now when I applied for Global Entry everything was transfered over from my Nexus application. With that being said next time I step up to the Global Entry machine would I be able to insert my passport card and have it recongize me? ((I will be carrying my passport)) Again I am just asking to see what everyone thinks. |
My application has been pending since 4/2 (says pending review). I tried calling CBP but got transferred to ORD where the officer in charge said (without even asking my application number) that I need to call CBP.
So making no progress. Any one else has ideas on what to do? I am scheduled to travel to YYZ/YOW/YUL later next week. Should i delay by travel until GE is approved or it is still ok to travel with my passport etc. Thanks. |

Help me out with this -- I just joined GE and used it for the first time at IAD last week. Great process, but the machines are off to the side and I never came even close to the desks for the CBP agents looking at passports. If I had a wife with me (or a daughter) how would I go about using front of line or anything?

Have not been through IAD in a year, but when I went through the kiosks were located next to the Crew/Diplomat stations. I assumed if the kiosks did not work, the CBP officer stationed there would be the one to help me process re-entry.
