Can anyone confirm that the kiosks still do not ask about "food?" I seem to recall that the last time I came through last month, the kiosk asked about meat, plants, etc., but not generalized "food." Is it still that way?
I am returning from the Caribbean tomorrow and am hoping to bring back some sugar and dairy products, but if I will have to check "yes" to anything then I won't bother because I have a quick connection and don't have time to deal with the big "X" on the receipt. |
Does anybody know if Montreal (YUL) is equipped with GE kiosks? If not, are there front-of-line privileges with the stickered passport?

My sticker at ORD allowed me to get into the blocked off area that has the GE machines. It was blocked off because as I enter a Pre-Cleared flight from I think Dublin or Shannon landed.
With my one experience so far was good. I did have trouble with the machine reading my passport but I got it to work. Ohhh and to add to the list of airports that don't have GE. MDW didn't which would have been nice since when my flight on Porter landed only one Officer was in their booth to process passengers. Which with me being in the middle of the of the group off passengers it took about 20 minutes to be processed. And I have an off topic question about that. After I was processed the passport control officer kept my form and there were no officers at the exit or anywhere else past passport control. Is that normal for smaller stations?

Why would Montreal have GE? Isn't this a US Passport program only?

I would assume that paule123 is talking about the pre-clearance zone. That said, the pre-clearance areas don't have GE kiosks but do have NEXUS kiosks which use the older CANPASS Air to clear both Canadian and US bound passengers. I actually find it easier, because you just scan your NEXUS card and to the IRIS scan.

Is there a reason Nexus and GE were not made to be compatible? I am GE, but not Nexus, and find this frustrating.
The reason it works in reverse is that the US government does the same checks for each program, and the same interview. |
The other day coming off UA838 NRT at ORD, *three* of us in FC has GE. IT was a race to the *two* kiosks! The third one had to wait a whole 45 seconds for me to finish :D
Love it. |
Two weeks ago I applied for GE with Privium. Two days ago I was invited to interview in AMS but unfortunately I will not be going through there until May 31.
In the meantime, no invitation for a GE interview here in the states. Is that normal? My flight in 10 days to ICN goes through MSP so my first chance to interview would be DTW going to EDI on May 31 unless I fly/drive to DFW. |

The prior post has me thinking ...
Has anyone tried this scenario: - Self: GE - Spouse: GE - Child: Nada => Go to the head of the line showing the sticker and get processed manually. I guess the same deal for this one as well: - Self: GE - Spouse: Nada - Child: Nada ... my most sincere apologies. also. PRIVIUM went for interview last week. NOT worth it. What they don't tell you is that you have yo buy year pass to the Privium lounge for about $300 per year |

Fresh dairy products, which don't include most cheese or processed products like milk chocolate, are generally prohibited or need to be declared. So you would have to check yes if bringing things like fluid milk. I believe yogurt is ok, but double check with CBP.
Yes, I just used the kiosk yesterday, and while it did not say "food," it specifically DID ask about "dairy products." But when I declared the cheddar cheese I was carrying, the officer said "don't bother declaring it next time; it's not required." So......how does that jive with the stern lecture about "DECLARE ALL ITEMS THAT YOU CAN CONSUME AS FOOD UNDER PENALTY OF REVOCATION OF GE PRIVILEGES" that I got at my interview? |

$300 is too much for me so how do I have to reapply from the start since I only now want GE? The only interview invitation is for AMS on the 16th day from application so do I call them and say this will not work for me?

Last time from a BRU flight, I declared one belgian waffle to the CBP agent as I handed him the big X. While stamping over the X, he said don't bother next time (all in one fluid motion). Took 6 extra seconds as he was stationed right behinfd the kiosk. Murphy's law here - the one time you don't ... |
FLL GE location
Can anyone tell me where GE is located at in FLL? Thanks in advance.

If you only want to enroll in Global Entry, you may need to cancel the current application that is listed in GOES. After you do that, I would reapply for Global Entry... If you have any questions, give GOES SUPPORT a call..
This morning I login to GOES to make an appointment and June 7 is not available at DTW. Now I'm sorry I prepaid because I needed GE for my August trip with a tight connection in DTW and wanted to handle this during my layover. Should I go to their desk anyway in June to see if they would interview me? Edited to say it now looks at least DTW will only do a month at a time, is that correct? |
