Not to sound shallow, but is it possible to have the photo retaken? I know it can be done for driver's licenses for a fee and this Nexus photo has got to be the worst I've ever taken.

LOL! Me too.....I think because I'd just driven over a couple of hours down to the Enrollment Center. I look pretty scary in the photo, but there it is :(

Funny - My Nexus photo is the BEST photo I have out of my DL, passport, etc. :)

The CBSA guy who took my pic in YEG didn't even hold the camera steady for my NEXUS card. Looks like a fake ID

I had that experience when I got my passport card at KU. As was typical for a college student with no classes on Friday's, I decided to stay asleep until the last possible moment. Had time to grab a quick shower and hop on the bus, though forgot a comb. They only took one photo and when I received the card, my hair was sticking up :o No warning from the person taking the pic...

I don't have an answer, but is it really worth the trouble? You almost never have to present the card (unless you're using it for your every-day photo ID), you might have to pay, and might have to wait for a new card to arrive.

Also, after my last encounter at the YYZ office, I really don't ever want to go back. Went in to update my passport and had some questions about the information they had on file (the issuing authority, my middle name is my last name in GOES, as well as something else that escapes my memory right now) and the fellow I talked to really had the attitude of "just shut up and let me finish my day so I can go home". I have a feeling if I asked this particular guy for a new photo on my card he'd probably revoke my membership on the spot.

My partner would love to take that photo again. Something happened during the printing process where her face was stretched on the right side. I will admit, I laugh every time I see it. However the sake of our relationship it might be for the best to have it redone… Or maybe I could just stop laughing at it but what's the fun in that!

Funny story. As I had my birthday the day before my interview, the CBSA officer sang happy birthday to me before the CBP officer took my photo. As a result of this surprise, I look very joyful and happy in my NEXUS photo!

Nexus interview was this morning. Completed the interview, fingerprinting and iris scan all in a matter of minutes. Went amazingly fast! I guess that just means an extra few hours in the lounge before my afternoon flight. ^

Hi all,

I just found this thread and have a few questions first:

1. I just got my Nexus (took me 9 days!!!, not kidding)

2. I might be moving/new job/new numbers

So my question is, how do I go about updating this info?

On the brochure I was given it says i must do that as failure to would be a valid reason for losing my card. On GOES, the only thing I can update is my passport/drivers license/mailing address. I haven't received the card yet so haven't activated. I don't know if after there are options to. All I can see now is the info I initially typed into the system (telephone number/current/former addresses/ employers)

Thanks and if you want a quicker appointment, just go and check everyday. I went from July 7/2015 in Vancouver to today checking a few days after my original appointment.

Cheers

These updates have to be done in person. If you get a nice officer, they might take it on the phone, but you want to make sure the info. Gets passed over from the Canadians to the U.S. Folks. Otherwise the info. on GOES still won't be updated.

And just FYI, last time I had a job change, they asked for proof. Think a business card was good enough. I didn't have it initially so they refused to make the change at that point.

NEXUS might be cancelled temporarily if passport is expired.

UPDATE: I looked at GOES. Under status of Trusted Travelers, it says "expired" because my passport was expired. It changed to "active" after I put in my new passport number and expiration date (under the "update documents" on the left menu).

Therefore, I think if your passport expires, you may experience delays or denial at the land border even if you have a NEXUS card.

The controversy you're referring to is about whether a Nexus card can be used alone for *air* travel (a recent change). It has always been the case that the Nexus card, as a WHTI document, is sufficient for land crossing in both directions and the program materials state as much.

But your NEXUS might be temporarily cancelled if your passport expires. See one post up.
