The Nexus program has been expanded to several other airports as well, including St John's, Nfld., Moncton, N.B., Quebec City, Que., and Kelowna, B.C."

But the report only mentions security screening priority. Does anyone have more precise details - will it be available when entering Canada at such airports (or is it already?)

Seems to be just the CATSA part, but I'll take that for now. Sweet! A lot of slow, slow folks at YQM security for sure.

I've only flown out of YQM once (in May of 2011) and there was no one - and I mean no one - at security when I arrived midmorning on a Monday to fly YQM-YYZ-YQR.

I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before YXE and YQR get it now.

I just renewed my Nexus and was approved ~3 weeks later.

The letter suggested that they were going to mail it to me - no need for an interview !! (especially with how difficult it is to get a spot in YYZ). Is this new?

It was announced a few months ago that renewal may now be processed without an interview. They can still request one if they actually have a question for you.

Did you go to the airport's web site and have a peek? I did and it tells you there.

NEXUS Renewal and some details

Indeed - it took one week. The notice states there is a new NEXUS card on the way "We are pleased to inform you that your U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), NEXUS program membership has been approved. You may use the program as soon as you receive and activate your new NEXUS card.

If you enrolled in Global Entry, you may begin using the kiosk immediately. Global Entry cards are only issued to Global Entry members who are U.S. citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents or Mexican Nationals (who are not current SENTRI members). Global Entry cards are not valid at the Global Entry kiosks. "

I think their letter has a typo in the last sentence above. My guess is that they mean NEXUS kiosks.

BTW the tolls I have in the current card are supposed to be transferred automatically by the NFBC "How can I get my existing account balance transferred to my new card when I get a new NEXUS card?
When you get a new NEXUS card the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission will transfer your account balance from your old card to your new card. The process may take up to 2 weeks due to information transfers between NEXUS and the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission. Therefore if you are a frequent crosser please don’t destroy your old card until you have had a successful trip with your new card or you can put $5.00 on your new card and when the transfer takes place your old balance will be transferred to your new card. If you experience a delay greater then 2 weeks, please contact the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission at U.S. 716-205-0681, Canada 905-353-6681."

Early July: Applied for Nexus
August 16: Conditional Acceptance
Mid-November: earliest Blaine interview date
December: earliest Vancouver interview date

Half a year from application to acceptance seems really bad to me. Hopefully some new interview times will open up.

"

No, I think that they mean that you are meant to use your passport, not your card (whether GE or NEXUS) at a GE kiosk. I also found this confusing.

NEXUS kiosks don't use NEXUS cards they use your eyeballs. Global Entry kiosks don't use Global Entry cards, they use your passport and your fingerprints.

I presume the GE card might be used similarly to a NEXUS card at a land border with some kind of reader but this is not a typo as neither kiosk uses any type of ID card. Not that that prevents the Customs folks in Canada (US or Canada, leaving or arriving) from wanting to see them for no possible reason.

Your irises or fingerprints are pretty convincing evidence you are in the program. Yet US customs asks to see the NEXUS card when entering with a NEXUS or GE "ticket", which is senseless, really.

Check 4-8 times a day. Appointments will open up, but you have to grab them, or someone else will.

Likely soon to other airports I would think as well. YQM is a different story at 6:00 am when WJ, several AC and UA flights all leave within 45 minutes of each other--there's only 2 lines ever.
