Should be able to use Nexus Line anyway?

You'll have to clear Canadian customs in the non-NEXUS lines (no iris scan means you can't use the NEXUS kiosks). Once cleared, you can proceed to the NEXUS office. I don't know where it is at YUL but the YUL website should have a map, or you can ask your Customs agent where it is when you get to YUL. No appointment is necessary for a retina scan (although occasionally, NEXUS staff say that you do; it isn't true).

I was under the impression that holding the Nexus card gave you the right to use the NEXUS lane, even if the machine couldn't verify the iris - like the case of a minor or when the machines are inop?

On the interview - I can schedule for afternoon but if I choose the Lansdowne or Champlain location - do they allow stand-by or earlier arrival in the day or must arrive during your interview time? And how long is interview? |
Applied at around Jan 15th, got approved on Feb 19.
Just have a question. I am going back to Canada for a week at the end of March and scheduled an interview on March 26th. I am leaving on April 1st. I assume I will not be getting my NEXUS card on time, so does that mean I can't use NEXUS on the way back to the US on April 1st? |
Denied for smoking pot a few times?
I just read somewhere else online that some people are asked if they've ever used drugs, even if it hadn't led to any legal issues.
Would they deny you for answering yes to a question like that? If not... Hmmm....:confused: |
Don't try your luck, say 'No'!
|
Yes, that is what it means. It took us 2.5 weeks to get our cards after the interview.

You must arrive in your interview slot. There is no such thing as "standby" for interviews. Only iris scans and information updates are done as "standby". The interview lasts 15 mins to 1/2 hour and you meet with both US and Canadian officials.

NEXUS + Global Entry access query
I used my NEXUS card at the Global Entry kiosk in ORD this weekend. The TSA official said I needed to get a "sticker" on my NEXUS card, in order to use it in the future. It sounds easy, but where do I go to get this sticker?
Any FT's know this? (NB I am in YOW). Thanks! |

Using Nexus card while travelling on a British passport
Hi there,
I have dual Canadian/British citizenship, and have passports for both countries. Usually, when travelling to England I use my British passport for the shorter lines at LHR. However, I haven't been to England since getting my Nexus card, so what I'm wondering is: can I use the nexus card on the way home if I left the country on my British passport? If so, should I take both Canadian and British passports, or only one? (I thought I might have read somewhere that possession of two passports is illegal, but I wasn't sure whether or not this was an urban legend.) I know this is not AC aeroplan-specific, but I beg your indulgence since I think the best expertise for this particular issue would be found in this forum. Many thanks in advance for any help rendered! |
I applied and I am nervous that I will be classified as a terrorist. The reason is that I have a new address. I've lived in the same city for several years. If there are anti-terrorist or drug smuggling profiles, I probably don't fit it and have never done anything close to those bad things.
I'm usually not nervous but if I were interviewed now, I'd say "....my my my name is is Cattle. I I I I am not a ter ter terrorist. I I I I just want a a a Ne ne nexus card, pa pa pa please. If I knew that I'd be denied, I wouldn't have applied in the first place.". |

http://www.voyage.gc.ca/publications...itoyennete-eng http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/bri...alnationality/ http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_p.../cis_1753.html You'll run into trouble if you start going out of your way to avoid your responsibilities as a citizen. i.e. the U.S. taxes based on citizenship, not residency, so you have to file a return even if you live abroad. Keep in mind that if you're travelling to the U.K., as a British citizen, you are not entitled to Canadian consular support. |
