Nevermind...

Zero tolerance is the stated policy.

I got the same speech, as I posted a tad earlier in the thread. The Canadian Agent specified "ONE OR TWO" brochures, and ONE OR TWO business cards would be no problem. So I carry TWO of each going in, just to be safe. I'd think you could stretch this considerably, but I don't want to even appear to be above that bar, so I keep it at two. My Agent was perhaps being ultra conservative, but with a zero tolerance policy, I don't tempt fate.

Out of all the policies, this is the one I always had trouble wrapping my head around. Only because they ask the question at the kiosk about commercial goods...

Business cards count as commercial goods?! I carry them everywhere. My carry on usually has about 20 or 30 cards at all times. Does that mean I've been offside every time I've declared I had no commercial goods?

I think my agent was being ULTRA conservative. I can't imagine carrying 20 or so business CARDS in a little case that you carry every day of your business career is a problem. I've probably done it many times. Most of us have.
I think the issue really is BROCHURES and ANYTHING in BULK. If you were crossing with, say, 500 or 1,000 Business Cards in a box or case, that would be an issue.

I would bet that if you called a NEXUS center and asked them, a "business card holder" of 20 or so business cards that you carry every day is not considered "Commercial Goods".

I remember reading some (many) posts back that people using nexus for Global Entry were told they needed a sticker on their passport. I was at the airport (YUL) on Friday and checked with the nexus office and they didn't know anything about a sticker for Global Entry. I also used Global Entry in July when coming back from Portugal via EWR without a hitch. Any update on this sticker issue?

Thanks

Some airports - most notably ORD - look for that sticker.

I've only passed through ORD once and didn't have any issue - no one looked for it.

I'll be passing through ORD on the way to MCO on the 18th and can give an update then.

Always asked for my passport when leaving customs hall at ORD, specifically told that they need "to see the sticker". Last couple of times, they actually checked that my name matched the GE printout and that my face matched the picture in my pp. Never been asked for it in any other airport, but always asked for it at ORD. And I pass through ORD a lot.

Where did you get the sticker?

As I said in my post, the nexus office at YUL didn't know anything about a sticker

I got mine at YYZ. I went in without appointment, put my name on the clipboard, got called in about 2 minutes and asked if I was all set for GE (fingerprints on file - I was) and asked for the sticker. It was a few months ago. Had to stop there anyways. My wife had an appointment so I figured I would do this while I waited for her.

I got mine at the YVR NEXUS office February of last year. No problems, no questions.

Got my sticker at ORD GE office when I added all fingerprints to activate GE. My SO got them when she did her initial Nexus/GE interview at YYZ office.

Despite the reports of needing the sticker in ORD, the one time I used it entering the US at ORD, was never asked.

I don't have any stickers on my passport, have never bothered to ask for one yet my Global Entry or whatever it's called worked just fine a few weeks ago upon arrival at EWR from LIS.

JFK doesn't care about the sticker. They just took my printout and said see ya later.
