Since you applied for renewal before the original expiration date, you continued to receive all Trusted Travelers benefits pending the final approval of your renewal application. There was no gap, so you are receiving NEXUS, Global Entry and PreCheck benefits for the full five years between the prior and the next expiration dates.

submit renew in 10/2022, get conditional approval yesterday, when I choose zoom and no date is available, is it normal? or after zoom interview I still need to go in to get fingerprint?

Just wondering if I should wait and maybe conditional approval will change to approval after few month?

You are in conditional approval until you complete your interview. It won't change to "approved" without completing your interview. After you receive conditional approval, you need to complete your interview within one year.

2nd time renew (1st time renew also require interview), submit renew in 10/2022,
get conditional approval yesterday Feb 1st,

when I choose zoom or Blaine location shows no date is available, is it normal? only thing I can do is log in from time to time and refresh?

Remote interviews are available only for Global Entry renewals, not for NEXUS interviews.

Please refer to the following thread:

That is incorrect.

First, there are numerous, relatively recent, reports in this thread of members who had the conditional approvals of their renewal applications changed to final approvals without being interviewed.

Second, NEXUS applicants who had received conditional approval have five years from the date of conditional approval to complete the enrollment interview.

Over 350,000 applicants waiting for interviews

Conditionally approved Nexus members who re-applied for membership before their card’s expiry date will now have a five-year grace period to complete their interview and receive a new card. That also applies to new applicants although they will not enjoy Nexus benefits until they actually receive a card allowing them to use the Nexus lanes. The previous grace period was two years.
Canada-U.S. dispute over Nexus sparks backlog of applications

The official said Canadians will have to either travel to U.S. Nexus enrolment offices or to the U.S. border to be interviewed before they can obtain a Nexus card. Existing Nexus members, whose card is about to expire, can continue to use the travel document for another five years, provided they submit a renewal application online.

WHEW!

Great News! After a mere 10 months, multiple directly contradictory notifications online about approval/revocation required/not required (third) interview, frantic search for info about any legitimate basis including a legal consultation, my NEXUS has been approved and all I need to do is activate the card when (or should I say IF) it arrives. I also was directed that I needed to APPLY for a replacement card, which I started to do but did not finish fearing that might complicate matters even more. Others have explained that my card should work until I receive and activate the new care. I should add that I am currently abroad with a very ill spouse, am ill myself, and both of us live in Canada and get medical care in the US, so this was not idle worry. Kafkaesque experience indeed.

If you haven't explored the Global Entry thread, there has been much activity over the past two days, and some daunting statistics from an unnamed senator's office #2132 Yet also, several have reported FINALLY receiving their GE.

Perhaps said senator got some attention? Anyway, I'm mightily relieved. Now, if my spouse can only share my fortune, we can continue to travel together....

Thanks to those on this forum who helped me to understand my experience in context. May your quest be less stressful and ultimately successful.

P.S. I wanted to add that I got no electronic notice of change in status.

I'm trying to break this statement down and apply it to myself. My Nexus membership expires Feb 2023 and I renewed Aug 2022. I am still awaiting conditional approval.
Should I expect my PreCheck benefits to still be available after this month for future flights? I know that I truly won't know until I receive my boarding passes but I really don't want to fly without PreCheck.

All of your trusted traveler benefits, including PreCheck, will continue to be available pending the approval of your renewal application (not just the conditional approval, but also the final approval).

Take a look at the message by djopel00 which I quoted above. You should have a similar notification in your TTP dashboard.

Thanks for all the info! In this case I will just wait for them open more centers then schedule the interview. my original one expire in 10/2023, if I interview in 2024 the new expiry date will still be 10/2028 right?

One thing I'm wondering if I'm using the expired NEXUS Card do the scan machine knows you have submit renewal or not? or it will flag me every time then I need go to the officer need to explain

Correct, five years from previous expiration date.

Machine should know.

It’s been 17 months since I applied for Nexus and still waiting.

My family and I have applied for Nexus card since October 2021. They all got the conditional approval except me. It’s been 17 months and my status still said “pending review”. Not sure who or how do I contact to inquire about my status application. Does anyone know? Thanks

I would call one of the Canadian NEXUS help lines at 800-842-7647 and ask them. 17 months is a long time to be kept waiting for any kind of action on your application.

How should I handle this upcoming Nexus expiration situation?

Good morning all. My wife and I are current Nexus card holders and our cards will respectively expire in 10 months and 14 months from now. However, our utilization of our Nexus cards was a bit different than many users (I suspect) and I would like to ask for some ideas based on the following:
  • We do NOT travel often between the United States and Canada as we use the border crossing feature of Nexus only when we are on vacation in the areas near the U.S. and Canadian border.
  • In the five year period we have held our Nexus cards, we had two separate vacations to an area where Nexus cards proved they were worth their cost and effort to obtain in our situation as we quickly and easily crossed the border in both directions.
  • As I understand the renewal process, we will have to appear again at a Nexus facility to complete updated interviews. At this time, we do NOT have any future travel plans that will bring us anywhere near the U.S. and Canada border before my wife (and likely my) Nexus cards expire.
  • As the Nexus card collaterally provided us access to the TSA Pre Check program, that benefit additionally justified the program cost to us.
So with the above in mind, I have the following questions:
  1. Since we have no plans to travel to a destination near the U.S. and Canada border before our cards expire, what will happen to our TSA Pre Check program status if we allow our Nexus cards to expire? Will we be dropped from the TSA Pre Check program?
  2. Am I correct in the assumption we do have to physically appear at a Nexus interview facility anywhere on the U.S. and Canadian border as part of the renewal process? (And not necessarily the same facility we used to initially obtain the card?)
  3. If it will be several months (maybe years) before we travel to an area where we could use our Nexus cards, would it be best to allow our current cards to expire and then restart the Nexus process a year (or so) ahead of our next travel plans in the future? Would doing so bring about any red flags in the Nexus system?
  4. If we choose to renew our Nexus program participation, we could plan a trip near an interview area in the summer of 2024. Since my wife's Nexus card expires this year, can we delay the interview for that long of a time period (applying for renewal in later 2023, but not actually interviewing until the summer of 2024)?
Thank you for any information or ideas you might share.
