As of today, I'm now able to renew my Nexus. Pretty much everything has remained the same except over the last year and a half, I pursued Polish Citizenship through my Grandfather which was recently approved at the end of March. So now I am officially a dual citizen of Canada and Poland. Last time I applied I only had my Canadian citizenship. Will I need to add my Polish Citizenship to my application? I assume yes, but I tried looking around and read mixed responses when it came to including European citizenships.

I received notification that my renewal application was approved (without interview) but I never received a new card.
Would I be able to use my expired card for the Nexus lane regardless while I wait for a new one? |

I'm over a year now (385 days) and it sucks to see new renewals getting processed so quickly!

DPs for recent NEXUS renewal (this was my first renewal): Applied for renewal on Dec 11, 2022 and received approval on Mar 14, 2023 (approx 3 months).
For my daughter, submitted for renewal on Jan 12, 2023 and received conditional approval on May 1, 2023 (approx 4 months) I have to book a 2-step interview for my daughter and while she can do the Canadian portion at Pearson, she will need a ticket as a passenger travelling to the U.S that day in order to access the pre-clearance location at the airport for the U.S. part of the interview. |
Applied for my Nexus renewal on February 26, 2023. Just received an email with conditional approval (July 5, 2023) and have booked an interview for August.
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I have no plans or interest in travelling to the US any time in the foreseeable future. I'm assuming that if I don't do the US interview, my card will not be renewed - is this correct? If this is the case, I may consider purchasing a fully refundable ticket to do the interview, but I'm worried about being flagged for "entering" the US and then "entering" back into Canada on the same day. Any suggestions? I also became a German citizen on June 8, 2023 though I don't have a passport and wasn't able to update my application. Not sure how this may complicate the renewal. |

Thousands of people enter the US from Canada and then return to Canada the same day. Nothing to worry about there. With regard to Germany, just because you are a citizen doesn't mean you have to have a German passp:ort. As long as you answer their questions honestly you'll be fine.

ETA: Canada and United States Announce New NEXUS Interview Option to Expand Enrollment Capacity Existing members who renew their membership prior to the expiry date will have their benefits extended for up to five years to allow for the scheduling and completion of interviews, as required (if they have not been auto-renewed). |
