- 3 applicants applied MAY 25 at 11:59 AM ET as existing GE members.
- Received all 3 approval emails AUG 6 at 12:09AM ET. Took 73 days.
- Interviewed YUL SEP 7 9:45 and 10AM - One final approval email received 15 minutes thereafter. The other two within 30 minutes after interview.
- NEXUS cards received SEP 12. It appears NEXUS cards were being cut either same day or within 2 days from final approval.

Almost there
After two unsuccessful attempts to get status of application, I finally got a nice person who asked for my name and DOB then confirmed my home address. He informed me that my application has been approved on the Canadian side a while ago (today is day 63) and it's just waiting on approval from the US side. He also confirmed my suspicion that the summer peak processing time is coming to an end and I should hear something soon but it has been taking as long as 12 weeks recently, he added.
So some relief that it's close to the end. Also the Canadian background checks do not seem to be the bottleneck here. It's the US side.

I applied on 7/11/16. The Canadian side called me with a question about my application on 8/5/16 and then replied by email that I'd been approved by the Canadian side but to expect a delay from the US side. Still pending now on 9/14/16.

I'm guessing we'll hear something this week or next. While the Canadian side does seem to go quicker, it does have the more extensive background checks (from what I read on the CBSA). So we're in the home stretch now, I hope.

We are current GE holders who applied for a NEXUS endorsement on 8/4/16. Upon calling CBSA today, we learned from the representative that we had been approved on the Canadian side a little over a week after applying on 8/15, but were also told that CBP on the US side is now taking 12-15 weeks for processing.
I imagine this delay is due both to the wave of new GE applicants after the TSA security line spectacle from early summer and agency-wide funding sweeps rather than any sort of enhanced screening process.
