Applied on 7/18/2019. Still waiting on 1/3/2020
I'm in Redmond Washington.
I did not expect to wait so long... |
I spent the last 7 months obtaining Nexus for my family of 4 and should have the cards this week. We're all US citizens. I applied for all 4 of us on May 13th. My wife and 2 kids (1 and 5) were conditional approved within 2 weeks. I wasn't approved until September 11th. I called a few times in between and they were baffled at how quickly my wife and kids were approved.
On November 1 we did the "interview" in Blaine. I give it quotes because it was very informal, more of reading off the information to verify. I had forgotten several Caribbean countries my wife and I had been to on the application and she said it was no big deal as long as they weren't middle eastern countries. The CBP officer was fantastic and super friendly with our 5 year old, even having him confirm all his own information just for fun. Towards the end she commented she nearly forgot to ask why we wanted it as we don't live in a bordering state. I told her for TSA, GE and we travel to Canada a couple times a year. 1 use in 5 years is enough for me to jump through the hoops to get it. CBSA had a card with explanation of use and a picture of the land crossing to show where to scan the cards. Everyone had pictures taken and wife and I were both fingerprinted and did iris scan onsite. I got the approval emails for all of us before we even walked the 20 feet from the interview desk to the iris scanner. Even though it doesn't call for it I brought birth certificates for everyone and they made copies to put on file, saying every piece of documentation is great to have.. They said we should have the cards within 7-10 days. |
Applied early/mid August through TTP site. Received notification of conditional approval by early November. Travel history included a Middle Eastern country.
|
I applied September 09, 2019, and got conditional approval November 7, 2019. That's spot-on with what CBSA posted on their site. I've scheduled my interview at YYZ mid-January.
|
Applied on September 4, 2019. Conditionally approved on November 5, 2019.
Canadian resident with extensive travel history. No previous trusted traveller programs. Good luck to everyone waiting. |

We applied for five of us on August 18th, 2019 and are still awaiting approval. That is 48 business days. We are all American and live in Indiana. I'm really hoping we it will be approved by December so we can do interviews while visiting family in Toronto.

Still waiting for one of us & Info from customs officer
Me, my husband, and daughter applied on August 6th, 2019.
My Mother In Law got her nexus approval in 2 Days. We were not so lucky. But.... My daughter and I got conditional approval on 9/26, Scheduled appointment 11/7, Just received our cards in mail today, 11/18. My poor husband is still waiting. The customs officer was super helpful. He said that applications submitted now are gonna take up to a year to process due to a move the nexus office made to another state, border activity taking up extra resources, & Back up of Summer applications, which usually take longer than any other time of year. He also told us that if 5 months pass with no response to come in and they can submit an internal request for expedited review. My husbands been waiting 3 months already, So if there is no movement by January we will see what they can do. & I will report back to you. Thanks to all of you. Its good just to know that We are not the only ones waiting |
Friend of mine, US citizen, resident of US, with GE, applied for NEXUS on July 19.
Still pending review. |

Applied May 30. Still pending - September 9. Possible my frequent travel throughout the world delays? I dunno, but wow, this seems long! I did call the CBSA 2 weeks before approval and they said they would check the file, so that may have helped or may have just been timing. Was impressed CBSA also called after status changed to conditional to let me know (was already alerted by auto email, but was very nice of them to follow up and obviously it was flagged in the system somehow) |
