Interview was very easy. Was asked by the US officer if there were any changes since my last GE renewal and asked why I wanted to upgrade to Nexus and then he had the Canada officer talk to me and he just asked why I go to Canada and I told him I was a big theater fan and loved the italian area of Windsor and he just talked with me a few minutes about some Toronto theaters and told me to make sure if I had anyone else in the car with me everyone had Nexus or to use the regular lane and I should have my card in three weeks and received it a week later.
Biggest pain was the Detroit facility. You have to use an intercom and they ask your appointment time and if you have weapons in your car and open the gate and there are a few buildings on the ground. They'll tell you after the interview how to exit and then you talk to another guard in a booth upon existing that will ask what your appointment time is. It would be a real pain if someone is in DTW for a long layover and doesn't have a car because I don't think an uber or taxi would be able to enter. It was nice being able to interview close by in the US |

You should receive it anyday Had my interview in the US on a saturday and had the card the following Saturday in the mail and I'd think Canada post is more reliable than the USPS

Hello,
Please forgive me for this noob - CA citizen, resident in Spain, looking at doing the application now for doing the Joint Interview in the first week of August (this year) in YYZ (to ORD/PHL on route back to Spain). Is this way too late now? OT to this thread: would I be able to receive the card overseas (Spain) anyway? Thank you! |

Applied 2025-08-29 Conditional Approval 2026-03-17 Plenty of interview spots, you can even get same day appointment if you want. Also got an email about an "Toronto Enrolment Event on May 6 to May 11", but it's already completely full when I checked. Not sure if I would wait that long even if there are spots available to be honest. |
