Congrats. If this is your first time applying (not a renewal), note that Detroit enrollment center does not have iris scanning. You can get it done across the border in Windsor but not on the same day. The Windsor office requires you to have the NEXUS card in hand to get the scan done. Yes, it's annoying.
I initially scheduled in Detroit for 10/15 then when I found out about this (had to call the Windsor # to confirm), I switched to Fort Erie where both can be done at the same time. |

Wife, kid and I applied: 7/27. Wife conditionally approved 9/24. Kid and I still pending initial review. US Citizens. Will go for an interview in International Falls, MN, where a quick check indicates plenty of availability immediately (within 24 hours). Will update.... |

It's difficult to say as the NEXUS process is not very transparent. It's possible that all your applications will be flagged as a family and they'd conceivably accommodate you all at the same time. It's also possible that each application goes to a different processing officer and is never seen as part of a family. You would think at least minor's application would raise a flag that a parent's application may also accompany it.
I would hope part of the reason they take 10-12 weeks to process applications is to find out who is related to whom. :) Good luck and report back. |

Finally ... got it.
Received the card.
Here is my timeline: Applied on : July 7th 12:30 PM EST Conditional Approval Email : Sept 9th 4:10 PM EST Interview: Sept 26th 9:15 AM EST - Approved - Received the approval email within 3 mins after approval (I was still in the interview room with the officer when I got approval email). Card Arrived: Oct 1st 1:13 PM EST (USPS Mail) Activated the card online using goes account. This forum is great. Thanks everyone for all your timely and quick help!! |

Just did my Nexus interview at YYZ yesterday with a 2 pm appointment. Didn't actually get in till 2:45 pm as they were behind. Maybe better to go first thing in the am? Didn't approve me on the spot as the systems were slow but about an hour after leaving I received the approval email. 15 mins is all it took with both officers Canadian/US sitting side by side. Office seemed very busy with people updating information waiting a very long time. My 15 minutes seemed to be the quickest out of all that were there for some reason.

NEXUS conditional approval
Hello Everyone. I received a Status Change email for my NEXUS application at 1 AM EST this morning.
Im not going to schedule just yet because I am waiting for my mom's conditional approval. She Applied a week after I did. Initial Application - August 8 Conditional Approval - October 8 earliest available appointments: montreal - 11/2 Chaplain - 10/11 Lansdowne - 10/12 Ottawa - 11/29 Niagara Falls - 10/11 Buffalo - 10/11 As a side note, I thought this was a bit funny and almost useless. I submitted an application question through this link: https://help.cbp.gov/app/ask/kw/application/sno/1 I selected the Topic of: GOES/Global Entry/SENTRI/NEXUS etc > Application Assistance. I submitted this question to help my mom, because I only have 1 citizenship, so its much more straight forwards. My mom was born in Colombia, still has Colombian Citizenship, but also has US citizenship. After we submitted her application, we realized that maybe we should have included her Colombian citizenship also, but we weren't sure. I emailed CBP the question with her PASSID, first name, and her email address. This question submission form really only has a Topic, email address, and message fields, and does not guide you on what information you should provide. I hadn't heard anything the first couple weeks, so I assumed my message was lost.
