Helped a friend do her initial NEXUS application - here are the timelines...

Applied : August 25, 2024
Conditonal Approval: September 13, 2024
Interview: October 18, 2024
Full Approval: October 19, 2024

Used the notifications from the Niagara Bot to reschedule her initial interview from late November to a next day opening in Niagara office.

My daughter and her spouse both applied for NEXUS on 9/29. My daughter is a US citizen only who previously had Global Entry and was just a few days post her first expiration of that at time of application. Her husband is a dual US Canadian citizen and this was his first application for any TTP. Given that his family currently reside in Canada they travel up there by car every so often and my daughter felt that NEXUS would serve them better at this point than Global Entry.

11/28 On Thanksgiving, spouse receives notification that he is conditionally approved with in person interview obviously required given this is his first time participating in NEXUS (or any TTP for that matter). The land border they use most often next has interviews available in February so he books a slot for a day that they think they'll be traveling cross border.

12/2 Today my daughter also receives notification of conditional approval with interview required but she has an option to do the interview remotely. However, there is not a single slot available as far out as the calendar goes so she just booked an in person interview for the same day and time as her husband given that she'll likely be there with him anyway.

Does anyone know if remote interview appointments ever open in case my daughter does not end up traveling on that day? How obsessed do you need to be about checking for one? Forgive me if this has been asked before.

Currently, there are no remote interviews for NEXUS applicants. Please refer to the following thread:As far as scheduling NEXUS enrollment interviews, there is useful information in the following threads:

Many thanks to whomever (sorry, can't remember to give proper credit) that mentioned appointments are often released on first Monday morning of the month. I was able to schedule all my kids today! It's almost half a year in the future, but we won't be traveling until the summer at the earliest anyway.
