My mom applied 12/11/24 as a first time applicant, and got approved today 2/11/25. She's waiting for my dad's 12/12/24 application to be approved to do the interview on the same day. Seems like appointments at yyz are available 1 month out at the moment.

Applied for first time Nexus cards for wife and 3 kids on August 30, 2024.
Two kids and wife conditionally approved mid-Sept., 3rd kid conditionally approved end Nov. Scheduled Canadian interviews at YYZ for Jan.30, did US interview on arrival at YYZ same day. All 4 cards arrived in the mail today ( Feb. 14). |
Canadian by birth, resident of downtown Toronto, Canada.
Applied online late day Dec 13/24. In AM of Feb 19/25 rcvd email notification of NEXUS account change: conditional approval. On that same day (Feb 19/25), scheduled interview @ Fort Erie for Feb 23/25. On Feb 23/25 completed 2 separate interviews: 1st on Canadian side @ Fort Erie Enrollment Cntr. Spent no more than 15 mins total, the officer was very nice, mostly informative, confirmed some information and did ask why I applied for Nexus. Following that I drove to the bridge (VERY closeby), spent about 35 mins waiting in queue on bridge to USA, told US customs officer I was there for nexus interview, would be going directly back to Canada (he asked), then over to the US Nexus office in same area, just beyond the other side of Customs booths. Parked in signed 'Nexus' designated parking (CAN officer had given me a map w pictures), walked inside and followed signs down a hall to the office nearby. Waited about 5 mins in a waiting room, was then ushered into an office with an officer. The US officer (also a very nice man) asked why I applied for NEXUS, asked me to confirm my listed employment, explained a few things nexus, took fingerprints & picture, then mentioned I would receive card in mail in about a month, and that I was good to go, I left. All interactions with officers in offices on both sides of border were relaxed and comfortable. As I walked to my car from the office following the US interview I rcvd a notification on my phone of a Nexus account change, when logged in saw my application was approved (Feb23/25). I Rcvd my Nexus card in mail at home MAR 10/25. A positive experience all around. |

Anyone else experiencing big delays with their application being approved? I applied a year ago and my application is still pending. I have GE so not that big of a deal, would just be nice for entering Canada at land crossings

My sister didn't have time to go to a Canadian airport while on this trip to Canada to do the CBSA interview.
Does anyone know if she can do the US interview once she clears the transborder area at YUL or does the CBSA interview have to be done first? Thanks! |

From the US CBP website: NEXUS Enrollment on Arrival Previously only NEXUS applicants who had completed their CBSA interview were eligible to complete their CBP interview via EoA at Canadian Preclearance airports. However, now all conditionally approved NEXUS applicants are eligible to complete their CBP interview via EoA at any participating U.S. airport or Preclearance location, regardless of whether they have completed the CBSA portion of the interview or not. Are you ready to enroll in NEXUS using Enrollment on Arrival? Follow these steps:

Edit: I mis-read your comment. I saw "have time to" as "have to". |
In the interest of data points. I'm a current GE member.
