The chaos continues! Steve unexpectedly called as I was exiting the airport, he was on his way to pick me up, jolly decent of him! The hotel we were staying in has no check in after 8pm, instead they have a key safe system. There was no key safe with my name!

So, rather than mess around, Steve dropped me off at the Hilton where I am now making good use of the F&B credit :)

I’ve earned this today :D

By the way, the lack of photos of the airports today has been because I’ve been wrangling my broken suitcase all day! It’s hard to get it started and steering with the rucksack on top and even harder to get it to stop so I was just on an A to B mission all day.

You’re excused, photos of old-fashioneds will suffice :D

A large but fairly basic room, will do the job for the next nine hours

Needed this dopamine hit this morning! Great report so far.

Regarding 'MPC' at the US border; sounds like a game-changer. Is this a free/easy to register thing which is in conjunction with the ESTA? I've got a trip to the US coming up in a few weeks (first since Covid) and I'm out of the loop with entry restrictions and stuff. Not looking forward to standing in a queue for 2+ hours!

It is free and easy to use. On IPhone the app is CBP MPC. Fill out the info at any time, submit the form on arrival. Make sure you have data, I saw one person having fun!

Good morning from the Hilton here at Cincinnati airport. I have just crawled out of bed after about six hours of not too broken sleep.

First things first, sort my life out and get ready for the day ahead and after that maybe breakfast. I didn’t include it in the room rate so let’s see how much it is!

we will be leaving at roughly 9am so I have an hour and three quarters to get the day started.

Same on app name on Android.

Regarding data, I can recommend Tello - for $15 it gives an American phone number, unlimited calls and 5gb data. Best thing is that you can activate it before arrival. So you know you can step off the plane, take your selfie in the CBP MPC app and it directs you to a specific queue (line) to speak with a border agent.

I've used various "Travel" eSIMs sucessfully on my last trips. Maybe not always the best value but pretty easy to setup and works almost everywhere when you don't need a number. I've used Airalo, Roamless, Flexiroam and ezSIM without any issues so far.

Be nice to be in the same place for more than a few hours! Yes, I know, I can’t believe I’m saying that!

The GlocalMe 4G portable WiFi is a useful piece of kit too. I have increasingly come to rely on it. Not the cheapest way to access data but super handy and can connect up to 10 devices. So handy for a small group
