Glass bottles in bubble wrap, surrounded by dirty laundry as extra padding. Haven’t lost a bottle yet.

We’ve returned to the fair for food stall supper :)

Hi, in terms of the distilleries, all of the stops have been busy but not uncomfortably crowded. In terms of the tour bus, it’s pretty comfortable with 23 out of 25 seats taken.

Twenty-five is a bit too big for my personality.... But then again we did wine tour out of San Francisco years ago and I didn't break out in hives!

Good morning from Louisville where the sun is rising and the coffee is both hot and complimentary
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...41b50bc1b.jpeg Today is a later start, 10am at the meeting point and then we start the day with a ‘boozy brunch’ followed by… well, we don’t really know as it was Buffalo Trace, which is currently closed due to the flooding. A big disappointment as that is one of my favourites. |
Given the late start I decided to head down the road to Repeal for breakfast

This was very good https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...b9b760457.jpeg That should set me up nicely for the day Sheldon opted for the American which was a mighty plate of food with three huge deep fried smash potatoes. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...adb7fa52e.jpeg |
Over to the Falls city market once more and our chariot awaits, the red carpet treatment
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...e2e8472e7.jpeg Some stunning pastries at the Market https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...9df80d1c1.jpeg I may have some huge cookies for later |
Bar Vetti was the brunch choice

The service was horrible. |
First of two stops today is the Kentucky artisan distillery. This is on a much much smaller scale than the other distilleries we visited yesterday. A tour and a tasting at this stop.

Really sad about the flooding at BT! For what it’s worth I hear it’s a veritable zoo. Gets very busy.
Bad service seems to be the theme of the trip… some nice whiskeys on the menu there. I like Old Forester 1924. Pricy for a pour but like a baby King of Kentucky (same Early Times Brown Forman mashbill). |
Whilst not a complete zoo, Buffalo Trace shop was very busy. We had a tasting and an opportunity to shop, the tour is still closed

An hour or so in the bus back to Louisville awaits |
