I'm looking to make the following booking and managed to find a really good fare on matrix.itasoftware with VN. Unfortunately however I cannot find any website that will give me the same price (inc VN's own website). Does anyone have any ideas how I can get it at this cost?

According to Expert Flyer, there is no available inventory in E for the SGN to MNL flight.

You can try any online travel agent or by telephoning a VN reservations office (preferentially in FRA).

If you cannot duplicate the itinerary anywhere else it is probably a cacheing issue on ITA.

That is not required. The booking is in L on that sector.

Also, EF shows availability as seen in LON or NYC, but the itinerary here is booked from FRA [unless pogonation overruled the Point of Sale choice].

Hupmunk accepts a (very very limited) subset of the advanced commands from matrix. Perhaps you can try searching there using your connecting cities (and the the airline filter on the results page).

If you're familiar with userscripts you can also use this to try and get direct links to orbitz/hipmunk/priceline etc. (you could also try Delta, but I doubt it will price into the deep discount economy fares). It doesn't always price correctly, but worth a try.

I have performed a search on ITA Matrix and the cheapest fare I could find was on a SQ flight was priced at $6,247.28 for 2 adults and 2 children.

I did a search on Hipmunk based on the ITA search codes and it says error.

I have also called SQ and two (2) well known travel agents in Australia however I have not had any luck. The fares I have been quoted by them range from $7200 to $8,100.

I attach the details based on ITA Matrix and seek advice from experts here on how should I proceed from here.

At this point I would assume it's a matrix error. SQ is unwilling to sell anything below an M bucket (but matrix is quoting cheaper buckets). You're not doing anything wrong, there is one of two things going "wrong" with matrix. 1) some obscure rule (that Matrix is failing to observe) applies to the cheaper buckets and is broken by this itinerary (forcing you to buy a more expensive bucket without such restrictions), 2) there's a sync/caching issue with the availability of the cheaper buckets.

Considering you've seen this result for a while (and I just saw it a few hours later) I'm guessing it's number 1... unfortunately there's no easy way to look up the rules and see what you're missing or if you could adjust for it.

I was playing around with ITA today and seem have an issue.

When searching a random date for SIN-FRA, I get a certain fare listing for all airlines.
When searching SIN (+ other airports 500miles) - FRA (+ other airports 500miles) for the same dates, I get fares that are more expensive than just the SIN-FRA fare.
Shouldnt at least the cheaper SIN-FRA fares be listed there too?
(Do I make sense?)

The Matrix only allows your search to take 60 seconds. Your search of all airports within 500 miles will extend to thousands of possible routes, dozens of carriers, and therefore many millions of valid fares and prices. Unfortunately the Matrix simply does not have time to find all the prices and therefore only presents its best guess.

Is anyone else having trouble with ITA Matrix searches lately? I sent in feedback a few weeks ago, but still get this error message on almost all semi complex searches. I never used to have problems. I put in my two airports, YVR and SEA, and look for flights to 4 airports in Europe - AMS, CDG, FRA and ZRH. I like using the calendar of lowest fares because my holiday time is flexible. Sept. 1 for 15-20 days. Years ago Matrix handled this with ease, but now it never does. I've tried just asking for YVR which helps, but when I click on a date on the calendar, it starts again. Error. I've tried a few different browsers to no avail. Do I really have to use Google Explorer?
