ITA Matrix Search: http://matrix.itasoftware.com

You can sometimes see flights, fares and detailed fare rules that may not be reflected on an airline's website. Please read the thread for some tips and tricks, screen shots, etc.

A related thread, ITA-Matrix-PowerTools - Userscript for Orbitz/DL/UA/AA/BA/CZ/IB/LA/LH/LX/TK, discusses a user script which is maintained by fellow flyertalk members to enhance the already powerful Matrix of ITA Software by providing new features and booking links.

Additional details and tips on the use of ITA's advanced routing code feature can be found in the following long-standing Mileage Run Discussion threads:

AA 38 0 MIA 7:30 PM LHR 9:25 AM +1 77W 8 hrs 55 mins Daily 08/16/22 09/06/22

it seems that an IB marketed, AA operated flight has been completely fabricated by ITA.
The 7:50pm flight doesn't exist anywhere - even on AA's website.

I think this is the reason i can't book it with powertools.
The flight is "found" on Priceline, but when i put payment details in, and click the purchase button, it says this flight no longer exists.

Priceline link: LINK

Is it possible that with a small tweak somewhere, i am able to change the fabricated segment to a genuine flight, allowing me to book for the same price??
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
thanks

here are the details:

I just ran into something like this, albeit on ExpertFlyer--IB was showing a codeshare flight, AA operated, ORD-LHR, in the timetable search. However, if I looked at the flight availability, EF showed that the flight was canceled.

Guessing you'll have to find a different flight that satisfies the fare requirements.

Yes, it looks like IB published incorrect data (or didn't update when AA changed the schedules). We'll follow up with IB to correct the filing.

Thanks for the report!

But that doesn't explain why the flight wasn't bookable... or does it?

I tried to reproduce this fare on other sites (like the IB website, Google Flights, etc) and could not. I suspect the fare being used (Iberia (IB) IDN0N1M6 LON to PTY) is being used incorrectly/erroneously by ITA.

Need some help with OldMatrix. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I can't get the output to work when I am using more then 2 Routing code in "Advance Routing Code box" . 2 Routing code works but 3 or 4 doesn't work.

For Example for Delta AUS (with Routing code, JFK LAX SEA) - KOA doesn't work but AUS (With Routing Code LAX SEA)-KOA works. I don't want to use multi Segment then I lose the Calendar View.

It should show me the result. BTW I have durationa as has 2-8 Days. For some reason I can't attach the pictures to this post.

Hi All,

I am trying to search for an ticket from DEL to CVG with a 24-48hrs stopover in IST. Tried putting "X:IST" or just "IST in advanced codes in ITA Matrix but the results are empty.
Really appreciate any help on how to use one stop in IST and second stop anywhere in the world.

Thanks in advance for your suggestion.

Entering IST by itself restricts the search to a single connection, but there are no nonstop flights from IST to CVG. Try IST F+.

You could use * IST * -- that means "0 or more flights, followed by a connection in IST, followed by 0 or more flights".
TWA884 and alex67500 like this.

Is there a way to search for a longer layover in a specific city, without using multi-city search?
E.g. "* IST *" with minconnect, but with the minconnect option only applying to IST and not the other connection points (if there are any)?

The fares generally won't allow you so many connections. E.g. I'm looking at a DL solution, and the fare rules include:
Code:
2 TRANSFERS PERMITTED IN EACH DIRECTION

No, that is what multi-city search is for.

But with multi-city search, you have to know the dates in advance…
My solution to that problem is typically to check for cheap one ways in Google Flights’ calendar (since it loads faster than the ITA Matrix calendar), and then try to combine them into a cheaper multi-city itinerary…
