UA had an issue with its seat maps this morning, our reservation system notified us that the issue was fixed.

I have recently joined expertflyer and I have the following questions:
|
Why does this happen?
EF showed 7 seats available on 2 connecting flights for upgrades. Bought tickets and when I went to do the upgrades only one flight had available sets now. However, back to EF it still shows 7 seats available for those connecting flights. When I separated the flights out and did a search on EF the first flight I booked shows 0 seats available for upgrades. So why is there that discrepancy? The flights are bookable as connecting flights on AA. Thanks for the help.

AA Saver Space
EF says space is available (U) on AA & Partners flying internationally. That space is not showing up on AA.com. What am I doing wrong?
Also sometimes AA has "award" space, but again, not saver - 300,000 miles. Is there a way to search only for AA saver awards? |
Hi ExpertFlyer Voice, I have a product suggestion for you. So the visual redesign you did we all know was disastrous. Great to know you've not forced that on us. However a real product enhancement that I'd like to see is integrating ChatGPT, with GDS availability data. Perhaps you could charge a premium for it, but essentially would like the ability to ask natural language questions and get results based on *live* GDS availability.
For example, "my BA flight from London to Austin,TX tomorrow has been cancelled, please can you suggest alternatives, sticking to oneworld carriers, and rank them in order of travel time. Please show an availability display for business class only". Or something like that? The example above is quite simple, but I think you could get very complex, very quickly. Presumably building in other concepts such as MPM, most significant carrier etc. I think there's a huge scope to make something exceptionally powerful. |
As a user of EF for many many years for awards and rev, i hope it'll continue to exist. Just a QQ, any ideas why availability on EF for paid fares on SQ might differ from what an agent can see in Sabre?
thanks G |
Anyone else experiencing this "glitch"?
On the Travel Information Search ---> Visa, Health and Passport page No matter which country of citizenship I enter, or which destination country I enter (I've tried a few of each), I get the message: "There were no results for you search" (sic) Update: Everything appears normal today. Also, I think i posted in wrong thread. Should have been in this thread. Apologies. |
I don’t see Qatar airways in the drop-down. Is there another travel partner I can select to see seat availability?
Thanks TD |

Seat Maps
Hi,
As I am sure you know, the seatguru maps used in EF are from SeatGuru, and have not been updated in years. The additional information about the seats is often no longer valid, or completely generic. Every bulkhead seat has the same legend about galley noise, etc. For example seats with wider footwells are not noted. Some layouts are not included in seatguru at all, like the Delta A350's they purchased from Latam and the United 789. Any chance to source the information elsewhere? thanks |
I purchased a subscription to EF a while back. I have simply found no value in it.
I typically fly OneWorld. Too many airlines not covered. Very few updates. They have overpromised and massively underdelivered. Seems like they are no longer investing in the product. Just my opinion. |
