I just got Ooma and a telo unit, had it a week, and it has failed to remain connected for any length of time, so sending the unit back to be replaced. We shall see if it works any better. But to answer to chgoeditor's question, my unit came with a wireless adapter, which might solve your issue?

Just use the other 2 cordless phones which you will distribute around your condo. Don't need to use the base unit. Better yet, buy a charger cradle off ebay and you can use all 3 phones.

As to a potential frequency overlap, most cordless phones are 5.8Ghz (you can check - just look at the faceplate of phone, most likely it will state), which will not overlap with your wifi frequencies.

Two or three brains are better than one! It never even occurred to me to just buy an extra cradle.

I spoke to the cable/internet company yesterday because we've been having other issues, and they're going to move the router out of the pantry in any event, so that's good.

As to the echo/interference: This is the phone, and it appears to be 1.9 ghz. Anyone have any further troubleshooting tips as to getting rid of the echo?

I think you understood it.. it's best to try 5ghz phones these days as there can be lots of in house interference with 2.4ghz (microwaves, baby monitors, phones, garage doors and opeaners) that can impact the 2.4ghz signals. It looks like the phones are 1.9ghz so not sure if that is still a possible issue. 1.9ghz is new to the consumer market for usually DECT 6.0 phones (keep them out of the bedroom and baby rooms!) so that might not be causing the issue.

does the phone have an actual corded base? Does that one cause the echo? Can you try a phone with a cord to the ooma base unit to see if the echo is still there.

As I mentioned you can move the phone base to anywhere that there is a jack, by connecting the ooma (wherever it gets put) to a nearby jack, enabling the jack network. I wouldn't put phones everywhere on all jacks, just confirm that the one line between the ooma and the phone base station jack is strong and then of course use the cordless handset to connect to the phone base station and you should be good.

the wireless adaptor work okay, but if one can its MUCH better to go wired straight into the router. I don't put the ooma next in line to the modem, I put it into the router (so MODEM>ROUTER>OOMA and now MODEM>OOMA>ROUTER as ooma suggests) and it works fine and I can then put QOS controls on the router to prioritize the ooma if I want.

It has a corded base, but every handset it cordless. I don't have a corded phone, but could try to find one.

I have Ooma (the original, no-recurring fee, no-taxes version )

I also have a Premier subscription on the account, which gives me a second phone #.

Both lines actually simply forward to two different cell phones and there are no actual phones attached to the hub. If I need to use Ooma for outbound calls, I simply use their iPhone app.

I currently have email voicemail notification set up where when someone leaves a voicemail I get an email with the audio file attached.

What I'd like to do is to be able to have those notifications sent to two different email addresses.

The Ooma Chat rep said that's not possible without a "private line." When I queried her more, that does not mean purchasing a third phone number but adding, she said, a Linx device to my hub. She lost me.

Ooma pro's, is what I'm wanting to do possible? (And despite Ooma's urgent pleas, I have no interest in upgrading to a Telo with its attendant fees until m current original hub dies. 8 years of free phone calls with no monthly fees for taxes et al -- other than the yearly Premier subscription -- has been very nice.)

I don't know the Ooma answer, but there may be an email answer. If email 1 is a gmail account, you can create a rule that messages from Ooma automatically get forwarded to email 2. Other mail services may offer something similar.

That capability is built into the Ooma interface. I created an image for you and tried to insert it but it didn't show up inside my post.

if all you want is to get the email transcriptions to more than one email address, [MENTION=6592]swag[/MENTION] comment will do the trick. Just create a rule in the gmail settings to forward from the ooma address to another address.

The linx, is a 2nd phone line device that will truly allow your to have two physical lines. The "second line" is really only two numbers coming in to the same ooma box. I have 2 line cordless phones and the only way to get the 2nd line to ring on those phones with the 2nd line number is to have a linx (I have a scout, same thing but bigger better and older and came with the original ooma hubs free).

IMHO if everything else is working as you like, don't introduce new hardware instead.

Yes, I saw that in the interface but want to make sure that voicemails from phone line #1 go only to email address #1 , and voicemails from phone line #2 go only to email address #2 . I haven't seen a way to do that in the interface.
