It looks like the phones are 1.9ghz so not sure if that is still a possible issue. 1.9ghz is new to the consumer market for usually DECT 6.0 phones (keep them out of the bedroom and baby rooms!) so that might not be causing the issue.

does the phone have an actual corded base? Does that one cause the echo? Can you try a phone with a cord to the ooma base unit to see if the echo is still there.

As I mentioned you can move the phone base to anywhere that there is a jack, by connecting the ooma (wherever it gets put) to a nearby jack, enabling the jack network. I wouldn't put phones everywhere on all jacks, just confirm that the one line between the ooma and the phone base station jack is strong and then of course use the cordless handset to connect to the phone base station and you should be good.
