I wonder if this will work with my t-mobile data service through harbormobile. The international roaming works at 2G speeds, but not sure if its qualifies for the promo.

As I understand it, the (grandfathered) Harbor Mobile accounts are essentially T-mobile business accounts. So you should get the faster speeds.

I am very impressed with T-Mobile had an issue in Germany and they were very proactive in wanting to fix the issue and even called me back so as not to cost my Brother In-Law the expense of long distance charges back to the USA.
The agent actually said, please let me call you back, you should not have to pay for an issue on our end, now what number may I call you back at? He spent over 35 minutes on the phone with me, trouble shooting the issue and in the end discovered something configured improperly on his end, corrected it, and then called me on my mobile phone to ensure it was fixed and then gave me a bill credit, even though I was NOT upset and did not ask for any sort of compensation. If you can use your T-Mobile phone to make a phone call, be sure to store this phone number before leaving the country...

I'm debating getting the 2GB vs 6GB data plan. Normally, from what I gather, my international roaming data would be capped at high sped for that same amount. But they are advertising free unlimited data in Europe this summer. So if all I need domestically is 2 GB, should I assume my Europe data will truly unlimited high speed or will it throttle after 2 GB?

Notwithstanding this, they are offering a summer promo for Europe and you need to call TMO to confirm. But my understanding is it's unlimited, up to 4 LTE -- see this: http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/23/t-mobi...oaming-europe/. So if true, then 2GB is all you need to pay for under the Simple Choice Plan. Keep in mind not all Europe might work at 4 LTE, I'm assuming you'll get both 3g and LTE. |

Was it because your T-Mobile phone was out of service due to a roaming issue?

The free international roaming that comes with simple choice, regardless of your data plan, is theoretically at 3g speed (although some locations might get higher). So the 2gb or 6gb choices is for domestic use only.

Curious about iPad - I have the 200mb/month free promo. Did TMO that indicate this summer promo would qualify too?

Just curious... did you try to connect to wifi and try Wi-Fi Calling?
He was impressed with the level of Customer Service from T-Mobile USA as T-Mobile DE (his Mobile Provider) would not have done that he does not think and they are in theory part of the same company. He refers to T-Mobile DE as "Terrible Mobile" and I have yet to have the same feeling about T-Mobile USA. |
Could someone in Europe do a test of this for us? Saw online in another forum that someone in Sweden was not getting high speed.

Edit: just found this via reddit, might be helpful https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/com...2g_anything_i/ Just got off the phone with a second support person (Carlos in TX) who said to turn off "Automatic Network" in the phone's settings if you aren't connected to a partnered network. Movistar is not partnered, but both Vodafone and Orsnge are. I switched to Orange and now have LTE. |

I think the operative word in their promo is 'up' to 4 LTE speed. So it will differ depending on location and local partner network.....
