It's still possible to downgrade, but the window will probably end today or tomorrow.
1. Download the version of 5.1.1 appropriate for your device here.
2. Connect your phone to iTunes and put it in DFU mode.
3. When iTunes recognizes the device, hold down Shift and left click the Restore button.
4. Choose the .ipsw file you downloaded.
Be sure you back up your phone first!

I'm gonna take a stab and guess "Don't <bleep> Up".
Edited to add...
I was close.

But if something horrible happens during that mode, you are most likely hosed.

I did the iOS 6 upgrade today to my creaky old 3Gs and everything works fine. At IAD now and used Passbook for the first time in connection with United's mobile app. Worked great. Pull up your boarding pass within United's mobile app and there's a new gold button (bar actually) that says "add to passbook." Boarding pass looks great in passbook. All flight information and Q code are visible without having to scroll.

i'm holding off until Google releases a Maps app. Had a chance to play with the new Apple Maps and it is awful. Sure some of the flyover stuff is cool, but there are many problems at a much more basic level.

I've never understood why anyone would update any OS at the first opportunity. It usually means you get to be a beta tester.
Two questions related, if anyone knows:
a) The release of the 5 makes me think it might be time to get one of the $99 4S's that are now available - but will it come pre-installed with IOS 6?
b) Is the iPhone 5 running IOS6 reliably and untetheredly jailbreakable?
