FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
Thought with the number of FCL and Spa questions littering this board it might be worth making a sticky with all the available information and also provide a place for members to ask their questions. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea and please let me know if any of the information I have included is wrong or if you feel anything else needs to be added.

Q: If arriving in TG F and departing in TG C the following day, will I get access to the F lounge?

A: Offically the answer is no as you need a same day ticket, however some people have been granted access in this situation. So very much a YMMV situation.

Q: If arriving in TG F and staying in BKK, is it possible to use the TG F lounge as an arrivals lounge?

A: Unfortunately this is not allowed, although exceptions have been made before. So officially it's not allowed, but there is no harm in asking.

Touch Of Silk Massage (Full body oil massage - 60 minutes for First Class only) – Ler's start your journey with a relaxing Touch of Silk full body oil massage. Delivered with the unique 'Thai touch', this massage will help to prepare your body for your onward flight by increasing blood circulation as well as relieving muscular tension and helping to provide the necessary hydration for your skin. On leaving the massage you will be left with an overall sense of well-being and total relaxation.

Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes) – This is a great massage for passengers who are stressed, work at the computer too much or don't relax well. Neck and shoulder problems from routine activities are among the most common area for massage therapists to address. Using specific techniques the therapist will work to loosen tight muscles around the neck and shoulders whilst simultaneously assessing how much tension is held in the body and how best to release it. You will board your flight feeling more relaxed and a little lighter on the shoulders.

Relaxing Hand Massage (30 minutes) – Are your hands tired from all that clicking, driving, messaging and typing? If so, how about offering them a break and giving them a massage they truly deserve? By massaging the major channels/meridians of the arms and reflex points in the hands, this deep hand massage is designed to thoroughly release tension that accumulates in the hands and arms from our daily tasks. finishing with warm towels for both arms encourage muscle relaxation; this treatment can help to deliver a total sense of relaxation.

Relaxing Foot Massage (30 minutes) – Let's help prepare your feet for your onward journey, by taking the weight of them and giving them a relaxing massage that they truly deserve. Foot massage is a well-known relaxation therapy to help take care of tired feet. With the gentle touch of the therapists' hands, a sense of overall relaxation is induced. Deeper pressure by the fingers will help to stimulate your vital organs.

Spa access rules:

TG F departure = F spa access

*A F departures = No spa access

TG C departures = C spa access

*A C departures = No spa access

TG F arrival connecting to TG C = C spa access, however some people have been offered F spa access in this scenario

No guest are allowed regardless of class of travel

Q: Is it possible to book the spa treatment in advance?

A: No. You can book at First class check-in, at the FCL or the Spa itself - they will indicate the approx waiting time if more than a few minutes.

I have had some PMs from newer members who are confused by some of the abbreviations on this post. If you need help understanding them, FT has a great tool for looking up their meanings in the FT glossary.

To me, it's not a journey into hell! I get my massage and a nice meal in the FC lounge, I can have a sleep in one of the day rooms -- hey, you never know, they may forget I'm in there . I will have just spent 10 days in Balinese paradise, and am about to get on a long flight where I can sleep.

In the past, I have had 12 hour layovers in ZRH and FRA and, because I was flying F, have enjoyed the experience. The only difference -- those were layovers during the day. In BKK, I can watch 2 movies in four hours, then back to FC luxury for breakfast and another shower - nice!

I am going to spend the 12 hours in the transit area, and wondered if I can stay in the RFC lounge until they close at 1:00a? I can wander off for 4 hours - I have a Priority Pass so, maybe I can use a Louis' Tavern for a few hours? I would then return to RFC when they open.

Is this a feasible plan? Or, any other thoughts. Thanks
I've done something similiar a few times. Arriving 11PM in F and departing at 7:30AM in C and sticking around the airport. I also have priority pass and spent the 1AM-5AM hours in those lounges napping*.

The only potential hassle you'll have is getting your F BP to access the lounges.

Since you're arriving early evening I'd recommend heading into town.

*There's an official policy of a 2hr stay per lounge and sometimes they enforce this. With a lounge in C and A concourses it might simply require a 5 minute walk during the walk.

I m flying with someone from CMB into BKK on TG C, arrival is about 6am.

I am then continuing on TG C to DAC at 10:30, and she is continuing at 12:30pm on TG F into FRA.

Just to confirm, she will be able to bring me as a guest into the lounge?

I dont really want the spa in the morning, she will use it after I leave at 10am, but would I be eligible for it as guest anyway? Or do I just get the C class treatment if so desired?

You absolutely are eligible to be an F guest since F pax get one guest and you'll be in possession of a *A BP.

As for the spa, should you want it, you'll be eligible for C not F treatment.

Hi all,

I have a side question -- we're arriving in TG F and connecting on to CNX in whatever-is-cheapest-Y (at the moment looks like Bangkok Airways at $123 RT). Is there just an arrivals lounge in BKK to have a quick shower?

Thanks!

No arrivals lounge and no showers in the PG lounge (unless you gain admission to the Blue Ribbon side).

Thanks dsquared,

What if we buy TG Y tickets? Would our incoming TG F's be enough to gain access to some domestic lounge, or does that not have showers either?

Can one pay into the Blue Ribbon side? I've got that Skyguide thing.

If TG Y then you might be able to gain access to the TG F lounge while waiting for your domestic connection.

As for PG I'm not aware of any way to purchase yourself into the Blue Ribbon side. You can be guested, but otherwise either you need to have status or be flying in C.

I'd actually spend the extra little bit that a o/w cost to get the potential for the TG F lounge.

Does the TG C lounge in the domestic terminal have showers?

Here's the official word from Thai, by the way:

I would appreciate if you would let me know.

Thank you very much.

The only lounge TG has in the domestic terminal does not contain a shower, which is why I specified that a connection to a TG (dom) flight might allow you to gain access to the F (int) lounge.

As for the 'official' word, well, what is told to you in an email or on the phone is not necessarily how things are handled in the airport.

I am coming from Fra on TG F in the morning and have a 1.5 hour layover until departing to HKG in F. I can depart for HKG a little later and enjoy the F lounge, but the later departure is on a 2 class flight and would be in Business. How would people vote: sacrifice a first class seat for 2:45 minutes and gain time to enjoy the F Class lounge, or stick with F Class to HKG and not have time to enjoy the lounge?

If it was me, I'd probably go for an even later flight to HKG ;-)

You'll have an hour or so in the lounge, so that's plenty to enjoy a snack and drink or to (even to have a shower if you wish). You could squeeze in a quick massage, but not the full 60-minute treatment.

Out of the two options you've described, I think 2:45 in First is preferable to longer in the lounge and a business class seat onward to HKG.

I noticed the OP mentioned YMMV on an arriving F, departing C itin with regards to a 60 min massage. Does anyone have specific cases where they were given the longer one? Is Intl C vs Dom C relevant? Is departing BKK in TG F later in the itin relevant? Also, for an arrival at 9 PM and a departure at 9 AM can one obtain the spa services the night before?

Hi, keep in the back of your mind that like most lounges, this is a departure lounge, not an arrival lounge, so if departing in First, you are entitled to all and everything, starting from the curbside as your car pulls up to your seat in the A380 (soon). If you aretravelling domestic there is no First, and there is another terminal for you to move through to, and the best there is a business lounge. If you are traveling internationally in business you can have a choice of 6 different treatment. As to arriving one day and leaving the next, access to this area without Aa boarding pass is restricted, so if you have one and you were traveling into Bkk in first, it is possible, a maybe, most FF are saying it is difficult, if not a definite no, but 9pm you would be tired, is it worth the hassles? Anyway have a good flight, regards
