FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
Thought with the number of FCL and Spa questions littering this board it might be worth making a sticky with all the available information and also provide a place for members to ask their questions. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea and please let me know if any of the information I have included is wrong or if you feel anything else needs to be added.

On leaving the massage you will be left with an overall sense of well-being and total relaxation.
• Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes) – This is a great massage for passengers who are stressed, work at the computer too much or don't relax well. Neck and shoulder problems from routine activities are among the most common area for massage therapists to address. Using specific techniques the therapist will work to loosen tight muscles around the neck and shoulders whilst simultaneously assessing how much tension is held in the body and how best to release it. You will board your flight feeling more relaxed and a little lighter on the shoulders.
• Relaxing Hand Massage (30 minutes) – Are your hands tired from all that clicking, driving, messaging and typing? If so, how about offering them a break and giving them a massage they truly deserve? By massaging the major channels/meridians of the arms and reflex points in the hands, this deep hand massage is designed to thoroughly release tension that accumulates in the hands and arms from our daily tasks. finishing with warm towels for both arms encourage muscle relaxation; this treatment can help to deliver a total sense of relaxation.
• Relaxing Foot Massage (30 minutes) – Let's help prepare your feet for your onward journey, by taking the weight of them and giving them a relaxing massage that they truly deserve. Foot massage is a well-known relaxation therapy to help take care of tired feet. With the gentle touch of the therapists' hands, a sense of overall relaxation is induced. Deeper pressure by the fingers will help to stimulate your vital organs.
Spa access rules:
TG F departure = F spa access

Q: Is it possible to book the spa treatment in advance?
A: No. You can book at First class check-in, at the FCL or the Spa itself - they will indicate the approx waiting time if more than a few minutes.
I have had some PMs from newer members who are confused by some of the abbreviations on this post. If you need help understanding them, FT has a great tool for looking up their meanings in the FT glossary.

I'm going to head this one off before it gets personal, as it is wont to do when discussed on FT. So I'll close this discussion in this thread (but the thread, of course, remains open) by saying that tipping habits, customs and expectations are different in different places in the world. If you would like to continue this discussion, please do so here: Tipping in Thailand. Thanks!!

Ok, I just finished a quick bite in the dining area of the lounge. The meal was served awfully quick (rice with gai and some vegetables). I just realized, that they took the prepared rations and microwaved it. My Kkao phad wasn't made to order. Rather bland too. Had a massage earlier. When I booked it, they put me down for a 30 minute job. Courtesy of the pros in this thread, I added on the hand and arm option (for another 30 minutes.) I haven't been in this lounge in eons. I see they have a refrigerator/smoking room. If you are hot, walk in there. Few if any smokers and its at least 5-10C cooler than the main lounge.
Know what was fun, the 2 seater cart that scoots you to the lounge from immigration. Have you ever noticed that there are no sideguards. I wonder how many people have fallen out. I had fun driving over, the guy was really moving fast.
You guys that fly F class on TG have it easy. I skipped immigration in HKT because I wanted to see how you hiso folk are treated, and I'm envious. 3 private immigration desks, with no line. Even the security people are very, very, polite. what a difference from my business class flight from HKT where there was no priority boarding and we were crowded onto a bus for transport to the terminal in BKK. As this is low season, you know what kind of people were on that flight, so the shoving and yelling on the bus was bonus.

Actually, on a serious note, it is dangerous. I mention it as a laugh at danger sort of thing. The metal handle on the lower right is basically to assist when climbing in or out, but no side guards. If my driver was behind the wheel when some elderly person was on the cart, I could see some dowager getting flung off when he does the turn.

I believe transpacificflyer is talking about the cart that takes F pax from the bottom of the escalator, past immigration, through the D concourse lounge and on to the F lounge.

Has something changed recently?
TG F Arrival connecting to international TG C/Y or *A C = FCL access
I was just denied entry into the F lounge. I arrived in BKK from FRA on TG in F and connecting to SQ in C (2 class aircraft). I was told that if my connecting flight to SIN was on TG in C instead of SQ than I would be allowed in. The lounge supervisor insisted that pax arriving on TG F and connecting to *A C must use the C lounge, and that this has always been the policy. She eventually let me in, supposedly as a "one time exception"

I did not ask about going to TG F lounge because we had a brief layover, and would be able to use the TG F lounge on our departure a week later. (BTW, the F lounge was a great experience.)

Yikes! I have about the same itin as you in a few weeks with about a 3 hr layover in BKK. I was really hoping to use the F lounge and spa. Can anyone suggest any strageties that might help my chances of getting in the F lounge? If I don't get in do I go to the TG C lounge? Are there showers there, and can I still get a C massage and then shower? Or is the SQ C lounge better. Can anyone comment on that? Thanks.

What's the option to store carry-ons? I have quite a long layover coming up and plan to take a trip in the city, however don't wanna take my laptop.
Do they lock them away? Any other, locked, storage possibilities at BKK?

If you're not flying out of BKK on TG then there's no spa access for you.
