Row 4 is bulkhead with bigger cubbyholes for your feet/legs but row 5 is nothing special.

In the end 6K opened up and I took that one. Also bulkhead but much further in front than 12A. :) Departing in a few hours. Can't wait :D

IIRC service on LX starts from the last row.

I have noticed that almost always on LX in the business cabin they come around and ask HON then SEN then *G their choices prior to commencing service.

Not in the mini-cabin in my experience. One FA usually will take orders for the A and B seats, the other the D, G and K seats. Row 4 followed by row 5.

The few times I was in 10A or 12A they did ask. Never when in row 4 but never had an issue with choices either.

Took Swiss in biz a few weeks ago from LAX to ZRH (upgraded with miles to biz) and I must say I was disappointed with the seats. I had 10A (the throne :)) and it felt really claustrophobic to me. I like to be able to move and felt wedged--like I was in a coffin--at virtually every point in my body (feet & shoulders especially). I wonder if (at least for me) one of the aisle seats where the cut out goes fairly far forward and (I think) you can sleep on your side would have been better. Reading this thread (after the fact) doesn't point this out, so it's probably just me, but I was really uncomfortable. The flight was full, so there was no way to switch to another seat. Is there a seat where the arm rest lowers for more room at the shoulders?

Other than that, it was a great flight--good entertainment system, very good food and excellent service.

Next time I'll just have to figure out how to buy biz and upgrade to first if I want the room. Although, come to think of it, when we flew BA new first this summer my comment was that the seat was too narrow and too short--in other words claustrophobic--so I guess even first isn't perfect.:p

Not able to search the thread using the key word "*G", but is it possible to call and get assigned to preferred seat (5K on a330 for example) as a UA *G?

In theory these are reserved for SEN and HON but there are reports of *G having called successfully for these seats indeed. Worht the call.

Managed to get 4D/G for SIN-ZRH-SIN in Oct / Nov which I read have slightly more space for the feet. The seats are okay for 2 people traveling together? Thanks

I've looked at the first post and have gone thru this thread and I have a couple of questions (and it's for my folks & aunt so I want to make sure I'm gonna stay in the will ;))

I booked 3 business class award tix MIA-ZRH-CDG/CDG-ZRH-MIA with the equipment and their seats as follows:

MIA-ZRH: A330 seats 5D,G,K
ZRH-CDG: Avro RJ100 Seats 3A,B,D
CDG-ZRH: A320 Seats 5C,D,F
ZRH-MIA: A330 Seats 5A,B,D

On the Avro, are the overhead bins large enough to accept a std 21" rollaboard or will they need to gate check their bags?

On the A330, I know row 4 is preferred but from what I have read, row 5 is the next best option-thoughts.

On the A320, I don't see any issues.

So do I stay in the will? ;)

The best summary of LX C seats is still the article I copied & pasted in this post. The next best row after row 4 is row 6. As I wrote earlier there's nothing special about row 5 except 5K which is one of my favourite seats.

If you've selected 2D,G,K or 2A,D,G on LX A330 I'm sure you will stay in their will. ;)
