I like the look of the new C. As I always book a throne seat, I don't care about non-all-aisle-accessibility.

10 abreast in Y: I don't care.
No Y+: I don't care.
Just my 2 Rappen.

What will happen to the remaining A340s. Will they get new cabins in First Class or are these planes phased out as well?

I see, so if the remaining aircraft will be in service until 2020 are they still planning to sell old First on those flights, or will the seats be sold as Business Class?

Nothing official yet but I think the A340 will be phased out after 2018.

Some will go to Edelweiss Air. They only fly C and Y. I guess they will take out the F in those.

A photo of LX's first 777-300ER HB-JNA at the Boeing Everett fuel dock.

I saw HB-JNA on flightradar24 for several hours on the ground in Everett.

Thumbs down

Those triple 7 looking old and outdated (like the 737 fossil) even before having been pained . Shame on LX for having choosen this plane with all the new generation stuff around.

You should be worried about the terrible interior a lot more than about the Hello Kitty paint scheme or the 777 type purchased.

Well, C&F will get decent interior - it will be Y where the new 777 will offer a massive downgrade (not that old Y was anyhow good.. it was heavily dated, even lacking powerports totally AND with a terrible IFE) in terms of seat comfort (3-4-3 and less legroom than other carriers that put 10 abreast)

Well, what can I say, having a 777 flight coming up tomorrow, in Y - but with TK, which was sane enough to put 3-3-3 in, having decent legroom, and good food and spirits.. plus an IFE that is probably better than anything we'll see on LH group in the next couple years..

I was quite surprised that LX did not opt for the A350 as a replacement for the A340 fleet

More expensive (bang for your buck), longer delivery time (and LX _really really really_ needed some replacement for their oldest A340s) and probably some extra discount from Boeing ("get your feet into the door")
