To be honest, there was such a big difference between undrinkable and half-decent, within the limited framework of what LH usually serves in short-haul J.

I tried, honestly, but there is only so much I can drink, and with Prelude being in competition with Comtes next door and Krug on the flight a few minutes later, all mediocre champagnes would have had a hard time and so I expressly requested a very small amount in order not to waste any.

Have you checked longhaul business meals one can pre-order at https://www.pre-flight-shopping.com/...p=bzQecu3WlLU?
The list includes Vegetarian tikka masala with planted chicken and Red vegetable curry. I have no idea what SWISS's idea of tikka masala/curry is like but they may be worth considering.

I loved this tuna!

we pre-ordered the Züri Gschnätzlets, which was very tasty, although some chunks of meat were a bit tough for veal.

NRT ZRH F
(starters, other courses to follow ...)

Starters except air-dried meat (which most of you have seen before anyway and I forgot to take a picture):

Amuse

Japanese starters (not a lot of food, but great presentation)

Balik and seafood cubes on quinoa -- excellent!

Salad

Nice soup!

(main and cheese)

Hands down *the* best steak I have had on a plane in many years, if not ever!

Cheese plate

Combination of both desserts on the menu -- FA offered that without me asking

Summary: excellent dining experience (as far as plane food goes), despite 8/8 in F.

While wifi sucks, catering in LX F is still usually very good. I’m glad that at least that part of the flight went well.

SWISS Connoisseur Experience: Caviar

Nice surprise that the Caviar SWISS Connoisseur Experience is back in First Class ex-ZRH.

(A friend had it on Saturday, no other pictures. I’m flying in a week so can hopefully take photos then if no one else is flying this week)

Yeah, thanks, no complaints about the catering.

And I was lucky, they only had 4 of the unusually excellent steaks and I was the first on the list to be asked, so got one.

“SWISS Connoisseur Experience” is a culinary concept that brings gastronomic highlights on board SWISS First. During a period of two weeks, special menus are available on board of all flights departing from Switzerland. The purpose of the SWISS Connoisseur Experience is to serve high quality products which aren’t available all year round and to surprise our frequent travellers with a unique dining experience. In the course of this year, the specials are available as follows at the last two weeks of a menu cycle:

End of February: Caviar Tasting
End of May: Seafood Festival
End of August: SWISS Steakhouse
End of November: Alba truffle collection
The start of the series is thus made with an exclusive caviar tasting high above the clouds. The tasting is offered on all flights leaving Switzerland from 15 to 28 February 2023.

Two weeks is very short.

Just missed it and won’t be able to get it on my next long-haul flight ex ZRh, as it’s after Feb 28. Thought it used to be one month previously.
