Completed my 100th night on 12/25, so P100 for the second consecutive year and will be an official LTP in 2018.

Scratch the SPG75 out. I miscalculated. I only have 69 nights. Was banking on the double nights promo but failed to realise that that promo ended on Dec 15th.
Oh well. Still I've got LTP and gifted SPG Gold status to a friend as my Plat50 award.

Doing 35-60 nights yearly for some years, in 2017 56, so no probs staying Plat. I do however, join others about the absence of any recognition/offfers as a LTP, actually for the time since qualifying

I may be the 1 off , but ever since Marriott combined the accts ( granted Status you had in one acct to the other program) I see threads such as this one not having any value to it any longer. Simply due to anyone who has LT Plat status with MR automatically gets SPG Plat, even w/o having a single stay, same with LT Plat with SPG get MR Plat so if theres a thread about who requalified for Plat MR hat too is no longer anything special.
Now if the thread is for any Elite Level that you cant get by having a level in the other program that could and would be proper

Just made SPG Plat this year. Nice to have that link to Marriott - 2018 will be my first year with Marriott Platinum. I enjoyed Marriott Gold and will see if the room upgrades are any different as a Platinum. Really happy to get my SPG Platinum back as I had dropped down to Gold last year and really missed my Platinum perks. That was why I stayed at more Marriotts last year since M Gold gets me lounge access. But as the 3rd quarter approached I knew I could earn SPG Plat but not M Plat and switched over and just did my 25th stay last night.
For 2018 I will have to be more disciplined and stay at as many SPG's as possible in hopes that SPG Platinum 75 or 100 earns a better status when the two merge.
