It can take up to 7 business days from the day you qualified for your Lifetime Platinum status to be picked up by the system.

Starwood / Marriott merger
Q : What will happen to my Lifetime Status when the programs merge together in the future?
A : Rest assured we will always recognize your Lifetime Status, whether it is today in your earned program or in the future with a new, combined program.

BTW, I just made LTP (0 stays and 0 years as Plat to go according to the semicircular graphic on my dashboard), but it still shows me as Plat and Lifetime Gold earlier on the dashboard and also on my account summary on SPG.com. How soon does it currently take to (1) have the status show on my account, (2) get the plastic card showing LTP in the upper right corner, and (3) get the nice boxed kit with the metal card? Thanks.
Congrats MS !

About T minus 150 days until I reach LTP (I hope!)
I'm over the 500 night threshold already ( will hit 600 by February)
& 13 years Elite but only 9 years Platinum.

Just hoping we get to enjoy this achievement.

Just made LTG this year. Already over 500 total nights.

When looking at Marriott, it looks like 2M in lifetime points + 750 nights for their lifetime status. If we combine my accounts with the 3-1 ratio, then I'm god to go!

That's me being optimistic, though. I suspect I'll just have to grind out the new requirements when the new program gets released. Hopefully there will be advantages to those who have historically stayed in both properties

Congrats.

How did you celebrate? Did you plan for your last night (either of 500 or to get the tenth year of earned Plat) to be spent someplace special?

Your nickname should now be Last of the Mohicans or something similar.

Wow, this is such a great idea. This is my 9th year as Plat and 2018 will be my 10th. I think I am going to do everything possible to get my 25 stays in as early in 2018 as possible so I can beat the announcement. Like others in their 9th year, I'm very concerned that those who have passed the threshold will be grandfathered in while those who are just shy of the threshold will be met with some difficult new qualification requirement to get across the line.

Made LTP a little over a month ago and just received my LTP welcome packet/card, but it was just a regular old plastic card (though it says Lifetime Plat where it used to say Lifetime Gold). Wondering if the metal one comes later or if I’m destined for Lifetime Plastic...

I got a metal card last year included in the welcome packet... the cool part for me was the map that showed all the places I have been w Starwood. I don't carry cards anymore... heck I don't really carry cash anymore in the country I live most of the time as we are a cashless society. Only carry to pay parking lots... and when I don't want Alibaba or Tencent's big data teams to know where I have been spending money.

Same here. They ask for a piece of ID and a credit card. That's all the front desk ever asks for, and as a result my metal card stays where it belongs, at home, framed (I'm kidding).

Tonight is the big night, making it to LTP...after 11 years and just before the deadline of the merge. I stay previous to this, three amazing nights at Le Meridien Mauritius. It may be a package hotel, but I don't remember having received such a welcome from the staff. They are simply amazing.

Yesterday moved to the Westin Mauritius. My Ambassador sent me an email to tell me a special Welcome was organized. Well, it was special....at check-in, they didn't even recognized my basic platinum status...never been asked if I wanted the points or breakfast...never been told about the lounge. I thought....well...they may want to wait to surprise me in the room. Nothing in the room! Just a one room category update. Seriously! GM is out for the week-end. So now the guess....did my new Ambassador did any follow-up? Or is it the property? Guess I will find out Monday.

The new LTP...look like I'm back to zero!

Wish I could have go back to Le Meridien, but they are fully booked. The Westin did make a move after I told them my frustrations. I simply choose the wrong hotel to celebrate. Well, I think for my next visit, it will be Le Meridien...it's all about the people! And yes, I think 500 nights it worth celebrating!
