Le Meridien Versailles - Montreal

Was upgraded to what must be the smallest 'corner suite' I've ever seen. Everything was also very old. There didn't seem to be any maid service during my entire stay - the dirty meal tray outside the next room was untouched for 20 hours, Perhaps it's the weekend routine ? All-in-all, not worth the price, the 4Points is a much better experience for less $$, as is the Sheraton for a few more $$.

Westin St. Louis

Upgraded to an executive suite on a cheap weekend, Starpicks rate. Great room on a corner, view of arch, stadium and old courthouse. Separate living room, dining room (seating for 6), 1/2 bath and small office area. Large master bedroom with master bath.

Club lounge is now closed at the hotel, but asked for and received vouchers for complimentary continental breakfast buffet in the restaurant. Great hotel in general, with lots of character. Not a ton immediately in the area, but probably the best hotel in St. Louis.

Upgrade

W LA - Westwood - Upraded to a suite. Comp wine, water, nuts and fruit awaited me and my travel partner.

W The Court - Manhattan - Upgraded to a suite. A little outdated but large.

Westin Puerta Vallarta - Upgraded to newly renovated preferred guest floor. Access to RBC Lounge as a plat. Room featured slow (but nice) service, good (but slow to refill) food and plenty of drinks.

W Mexico City - No upgrade or mention of plat status.

Within the last week:

Sheraton Crescent, Phoenix: a club level king room

4P Tucson: Nada (SPG level, floor 6)

4P MetroCenter, Phoenix: the poolside suites in the back (too noisy), which I declined for a top-floor king room

the past few weeks:

Westin Diplomat: upgraded to a corner suite that had 'partial ocean view'. the partial view meant if you went on the balcony and stuck your head out you could almost see the ocean. declined the room in favor of a standard ocean view room.

Westin Pasadena: they werent quite sure what a Platinum was

Please report this to corporate customer service. I cannot tolerate hotels who are unable to properly train their front desk staff

W New York

That's right - the W New York, at 48th and Lexington. I couldn't believe it either. Couple of interesting points:

1) I checked in rather late - after 11 PM
2) They acknowledged my Platinum status right away and I didn't have to request the upgrade, they offered
3) It was an actual suite - separate living room and bedroom. It was small, and only a Queen size, bathroom was extremely tiny, but this was an actual suite.
4) Valet checked stored my luggage the following morning with a big smile, nice conversation and a firm handshake

Fluke occurrence, or perhaps some changes are being made at this property?
