Thanks for the heads up. I'm there in late April.

I've also got another reservation as back up. ^

They have quite a way to go before it is in shape to open.

If I was a betting man, I wouldn't be betting on a hard 01 April opening date. If soft, it's going to be very soft.
Can you provide any more details? I am supposed to stay close to opening day and had been told it was already close to completion...

Sure. The lobby was a barren wasteland of sawdust and the link to the skytrain consisted of a single support beam.

I didn't recive a tour of the construction zone, but everything in Thailand moves at a snail's pace and the hotel outwardly appeared far more than two months from completion.

I could easily be wrong, but they have a lot more work to do.

Given the hotel has the same owner as the Four Seasons directly next door, I don't know you have to worry too much- and the Four Seasons is an extremely comfortable hotel with great service.

I'd be happy if I was transferred to the Four Seasons. I'm more worried about being shipped off to another SPG hotel as there's nothing else comparable.

I walked by last night. There was lots of activity, both inside and out. I bet they get it open, but will still be putting the final touches on things like the connection to SkyTrain.

It does look like many of the interior finished surfaces are complete, as there is a lot of protective covering on the floors, etc.

Exactly.

Which raises the question: what is policy (either SPG or specific to this hotel) in these situations? Am I likely to be rebooked at another SPG hotel or another hotel owned by the same owner?

Lurker? Anyone working for the hotel?

Unfortunately I do not have an answer to this. I believe the decision making will be carried out mainly by the management of this property.
