Dear members,

I appreciate the enthusiasm regarding this property. My colleagues over at St Regis Bangkok would like to assure everyone that your invaluable comments are being reviewed and they would like to apologize for the delay in its opening as they would like to ensure that the guests have an uncompromising experience when it is opened.

Looks like training for this hotel was happening at the Plaza Athenee recently. As such, the staffing issue seems to be under control. It must be the new property meeting the StR brand standards, just as other SPG holdups over here.

I am currently looking to be in Bangkok at least couple of times in 2011 and I hope the St Regis Bangkok offers us FlyerTalkers some grand opening specials, just like their sister Thailand properties have done so in the past eg. Westin Siray Bay, W Koh Samui

I recognize that view, it's near the Hyatt.

I would like to stay there some day.

It appears the hierarchy of room types is the following:

Deluxe
Executive Deluxe
Grand Deluxe
Metropolitan Suite
St. Regis Suite
Caroline Astor Suite

If the above is a complete list, which I don't know if it is, then the Metropolitan Suite would I assume classified as their standard suite. Hopeful they have an ample amount, although the hotel has only 227 total rooms.

They also have the St. Regis residences that are apartments for sale as some are familiar with.

A couple other policies of note:
Extra Bedding Policy

One crib is allowed in traditional guest rooms and in suites. Deluxe and Executive Deluxe rooms are unable to accommodate extra beds.

Family Plan Policy

Please note that children under three may sleep in existing room bedding at no additional charge. Children ages three to 12 will be charged a child supplement, and guests ages 12 and over will be charged as an adult.

Alcohol Policy

Alcoholic beverage service is restricted to those 18 years or older (with valid identification).
I guess I didn't realize it was 18 years old to drink in Thailand.
