Yes I saw that and have the same question! Why would they publish this without any details?!?!?!
|
Unfortunately it reflects the level of marketing of the RTW product done by SkyTeam vs oneworld and Star.
Also, really the usefulness of its website versus those of the other two alliances. www.skyteam.com is nothing more than brochureware. |

Does anyone know of a way to find out what discount applies to which country? 30% would be worth investigating, 5% less so.

Combining Skyteam RTW and Oneworld pass awards for 1 big trip
My husband and I are in the early stages of planning an ATW trip using Delta 180,000 Skymiles each for 6 stopovers. We are going to supplement the trip with additional stopovers in Asia/South Pacific by using approximately 100K American Advantage miles for a OneWorld Asia/Pacific Circle pass.
We've exhausted nearly all credit card offers for miles so we wont be able to add many more miles in either program prior to traveling. We will try to keep getting more but want to plan with only what we have now. We don't plan to travel to Europe (excluding Moscow - depending on where you categorize that) or South America on this trip. Our preliminary idea is the following for Skyteam: Seattle --> [One of the OW destinations below] --> Dubai --> Moscow --> Istanbul --> Cairo --> Nairobi --> Seattle Alternatives we would also consider substituting: India, South Africa, Morocco, Mongolia Oneworld: -Beijing -Australia -New Zealand -Indonesia (preferably Bali) -Thailand/Vietnam/Cambodia/Malaysia (We would probably travel between these by land) We will be taking 5 to 9 months off for the trip and plan on leaving around a year from now. We are early in the process and looking for any input on the itinerary and any other tips in planning. Thanks in advance for any insight. |

We will be taking 5 to 9 months off for the trip Dubai is west of Moscow Moscow is west of Istanbul is EAST of Cairo Nairobi is EAST of Cairo (and Istanbul) You can do DXP-SVO-NBO-CAI-IST Or since open jaws are allowed you could do DXP-SVO-NBO-CAI; buy CAI-IST; IST-CPT-SEA (Adding another stop). (SVO is just barely east of NBO, which is a pity as it's be nice to do DXP-NBO-SVO; LED-CAI) If you're in SVO I'd definitively recommend a trip to LED, even if you need to come back to SVO to leave. |
Given the precious little published information there is about REWARD RTW tickets, I thought I'd list here some of the notables from our experience booking one this weekend.

Excellent, MemphisQueen! Thanks for this.
Does anybody have recent experience of booking RTW awards with Flying Blue (AF/KL)? It would be good to know whether booking with FB is simiilar to booking wth DL. |
Been searching the forum and this thread . .
Can anyone direct me to where I can find the Europe/Asia pass fare award based in miles instead of paying in dollars? I have about 250K DL pesos and am curious to see where I could go for that.
Thanks. |

For example, I am planning an itinerary as follows -
AMS-NRT-ICN-SYD-LAX-AMS-LED-AMS Stopover applies to underlined destinations. Anything wrong with the above itinerary, considering I am doing a stopover in my city of origin (AMS)? Rgs, AMS-NRT/ICN-AMS & AMS-LAX-SYD-LAX-AMS Also consider AirTreks (http://www.airtreks.com/Products_AirSpecials.aspx). They have good deals in Y. |

Thanks. But, call Flying blue to confirm that. http://www.skyteam.com/about/products/index.html |
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the complete fare rules for ST's Asia Pass? There's a copy from several years ago on another thread in here, but it's pre-VN and CZ. I've attempted to find a copy through expertflyer.com, but the only fares it were giving me where full RTW fares.
Thanks in advance. |
