Mady, on the Sixt webpage you will see cars and prices for your chosen location and dates ,click on the book now icon the first price is for pay at location. Under that you can click on the prepaid rate, you need to check this by each car group. You can then further add insurance and then again diesel/auto etc.

Yeah.thx. Now i see, but,i think they have changed something, because before i was not able to see.And glass &tire option wasnt there either...

Good question, The GDW is listed in the rental information as a separate insurance but I can see that this isn't bookable on line. Let me double check with my colleagues in the U.S..

Thanks, Gary

Rental in Frankfurt

Hi,
I am flying into Frankfurt for 17 days in May. I travel exclusively with National Car rental and have great service, but since its Europe i'm lost. I'm trying to do this without getting ripped off. Does Sixt have a corporate match program? I'm executive Status with National, the highest they have. Basically i'm trying to get an economy or midsize car for $500 after taxes. Is that possible? Anyone have any codes that work in Germany. Everything I see is at best $635( Costco from their website).

Any help is greatly appreciated! This is a great resource, wish i would have seen it earlier.

Via NationalCar.co.uk, a 'Economy: Peugeot 207 1.0 or similar' at Frankfurt Hahn is $554 for 17 days. Do you have a chance of an upgrade with your status? Via auto-europe.co.uk, a 'Peugeot 207 2 dr or similar' (Economy) with Alamo is $409 (limited mileage). As these are UK sites, these are "inclusive" prices: tax, CDW, TP.

Avis, at a downtown location, via www.kemwel.com, has a manual 'Economy (e.g. VW Polo)' with a basic price (no TP/CDW) for $393 ($543 inclusive)

It may be worh checking both autoeurope.com and kemwel.com for non-airport locations.

I am executive member with National but that won't help in Frankfurt. Can sixt match my status or what is best rate . Trying to stay under or at 500 dollars after taxes. Thanks!

If you book at a city centre location, not Hauptbahnhof(main station) or airport the prices are 20% lower. This is for all companies

Hi there Sixt UK Team

Back in 2011, I took advantage of the M3 summer special in Germany and really enjoyed the car.

I see from these forums that the special was repeated in 2012.

I am returning to Germany this September and I am desperately hoping the special will be repeated again this year.

Has there been any news?

Kind regards

Paul

Here's a link to Sixt Luxury, where all the other M BMWs are, and some other nice ones too!

So my company uses Orbitz for Business, and by checking Sixt outside the airport in Frankfurt, I found a midsize vehicle after taxes for $569 on a 17 day rental. It is the best price by $50 that i've found.

Sixt Class of Car question

Hi, I am about to book with Sixt. What cars are included in these descriptions? I see SUV I can book after taxes for $495 for 17 days in Frankfurt. What cars do they consider SUV. the one mentioned only says Renault Magene STW(or similar). Thanks

The one you mention is a station wagon (a compact sation wagon) not an SUV. I would not rent a French car at all if I were you.
Generally SUVs are pretty much the same as in the US, except they are pricing it higher and majority of them are premium/luxury. Doubt you will find any SUV for that much money in Germany.

The cheapest SUV at Sixt from what I have found is a Ford Kuga (Ford Escape in the US) but that is more then 500 USD, I think.

If you take a look at this page - http://www.sixt.de/fahrzeugmodelle/
it will give you examples for each class.

CWMR should be the class you're finding a Renault Megane Estate in, which doesn't really match with a mid-size.

ILMR is a Volkswagen Passat or similar, that's more or less standard size here. :)

what will the rental really cost?

We are traveling to Frankfurt in August, and want to rent a Polo, or equivalent for 14 days. I would prefer to prepay, but I admit that I am a bit confused by the LDW options. I see that "3rd party coverage" is included, but I don't want to get hit at pickup with an expense I have not budgeted for. Is LDW required?

We will arrive on August 17, 2013, and leave on August 31, through the Frankfurt Airport. I would like the peace of mind of prepaying, but I want to prevent "surprises" when we arrive.

Thanks,
Michael

From German Terms&Cond:

Third Party Insurance (TI)

Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of EUR 50 Mill for personal injuries and material damages. Maximum cover for personal injuries is EUR 8 Mill per injured person and is limited to Europe only.

Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)

Loss Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft.

If LDW is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
If LDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts: EUR 850.- (MBMR to SDMR, CWMR, IWMR,SWMR, CXMR, IXMR, SXMR, CYMR, IYMR, MTMR, CCCC) / EUR 1,050.- (FDMR to XDAR, IVMR, SVMR, FVMR, FWMR, PWMR, LWAR, FYMR, FXMR, CTMR to XTAR, SSMR to XSAR, SFMR to XFAR)/ EUR 1,500.- (LTAN, LSAN, XXAX, XTAX, LTAX, LSMN, XJAN, XSAN, XDAN, XSAM, XNAM, XTAM, XEAM, XRAM, LPAN and M01 to M08).

Third party is just a liability insurance, so if you wreck someone you are covered for their damages, but not yoors. Usually these type of insurances are mandatory for a European reantals.
