Hi sixt, I have a reservation for this coming Monday in Frankfurt, and I would like to ask on the online check in procedure, I'm a platinum member, will I get the upgrade I deserve already at the online process or only at the airport, and if it gives me the option of choosing a upgrade online, is it only one level up, or it sometimes can be a bigger upgrade?
If upgraded will there any additional costs then without a upgrade? |

If upgraded will there any additional costs then without a upgrade? The upgrade can be more than one class, just depends on luck, current situation, what cars are available, how the RA feels, the wind speed and what you had for breakfast. Basically, it all just comes down to luck. I have booked ECMR and driven away in CWMR (Golf Estate), and CLMR and driven away in FDMR (A4 Saloon). Costs - the deposit and excess may change, but I can't confirm this. Otherwise I can't think of any additional charges unless you pay for the upgrade. |

A few years back my wife had her SPG Platinum matched to Sixt Plat, this was before we got married, she is currently out of the country on business and we are traveling in May and most likely renting with Sixt and was wondering do we need to change the name on her account, if so how long would it take and what is needed?
|
Regarding LDAR fleet in Germany, does it mostly consist of 525d? How abt 528i? Any other cars (i.e. A6 3.0TDI etc)?

Please send me a private message with the Express Card number and I'll provide your wife with my contact e-mail address. If the Express card is in the name of your wife then she will have to give us the instruction. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Gary |
Question / issue (yesterday I contacted SIXT offline - Gary, to be precise -, but it may happen that he is currently not available or with no access to his email; however, I'm in a rush because I need to settle this ASAP)
I am in need of a vehicle for this upcoming weekend, details being: Pick-up & return station: Munich Airport (MUC) Dates: 13/04 09:30 to 15/04 20:00 I was targeting either SDMR (Passat CC) or SWMR (Volvo V60), for which I get decent rates (Platinum card). It happens that I'll be heading to Austria and back, and in Austria winter tires are still mandatory, being an additional 20 Euros per day with those cars. On the other hand, Europcar is matching my SIXT rates *AND* includes winter tires. I'd be quite appalled to have to pay an extra 20 euros per day with SIXT to guarantee the said winter tires, particularly when I'd say that most cars would still have them fitted as standard right now (they were mandatory in Germany until Easter!). Sorry for the rushed demand, but if anyone at SIXT could help on this in the next few hours, I'd definitely prefer to keep my business with you - thank you in advance for your assistance!! |

Do you have any emergency help service or some other cover for this situation, how much does it cost or is it included? thanks In Italy, car rented from Sixt in Germany. We got a flat tyre, complicated scenario. But long story short, I put the spare wheel on, called the Sixt emergency number and told them what had happened. They then called me back a couple of times over the next 48 hours to make sure I was ok with the car and driving it another 800KM on the spare (luckily full size) wheel. I explained this to the RA when I dropped the car off in Munich and they asked me to fill in a damage report. Did that, and a few days later got a final bill in, with nothing about the wheel. This was with 0€ excess insurance, so I don't know if it would be different if you had to pay an excess first. |

The minimum age is 21 years old and the driver has to have his driver's licence for more than 1 year dependant on vehicle category. But there is no age limit in France. The driver can be 68 or more without any restriction. Age Restrictions Minimum age in France is 21 and the driver has to be in possession of a valid driving licence for at least 1 year. Apart from this, the following restrictions for minimum age and possession of a valid driving licence are valid: 23 years/2 years for vehicles in groups CCMR, CLMR, CDMX, IDMR to SWAR, FVMR, CTMR, ITMR, STMR, SFMR, SSMR, 25 years/3 years for vehicles in groups FDMR to LWAR, FTMR to LTMR, FFMR to LFMR, 28 years/5 years for vehicles in groups XDAR, XTAR, XTAX, XXAR, XXAX, XFAR. A Young Driver Surcharge of EUR 29.- per day, max. EUR 290.- per month started applies for drivers under 25 years. I hope this info helps. Gary |
