Hi studentCPH.

I am very sorry for the oversight! It seems a busy Monday got the better of me, so huge apologies for not replying sooner.

The LAX location is still classed as a location being serviced out of the airport even though it is slightly off site. This means that the vehicle cannot be taken across state lines if you do not have a return airline ticket or boarding pass.

In regards to the young driver surcharge, this is applicable to all drivers noted on the rental agreement.

I hope this information helps and please let me know if you need anything further.

Thanks, Louise

Hi Louise,

I think this question might've been overlooked, any chance of a reply? :)

Thanks!

Hi Louise,

Much appreciated, still a super fast reply!
Just one last stubborn addition - I do have a return ticket, so showing this when renting the vehicle will allow me to drive to other states (Arizona, Nevada and Utah, where Utah doesn't have a border with California), without extra charges?

Again, thank you very much!

That is correct. As long as you can show them your return ticket and give them a rough idea of your travel plans the transition will be smooth and you will be able to get on your way.

Hope you have a great trip !

Many thanks, Louise.

Question regarding rentals in the USA, does the "territorial restrictions & rentals across state lines" applies to everyone or only US residents ?

I'm not residing in the US and have a return ticket, will I be charged $0.50 for every mile driven outside the region of pickup ?

Can I add to my Sixt account a Sixt rental from the past?

Hi MAZ199,

As long as you are collecting your vehicle from a port or airport and have a return ticket or boarding pass then you are able to travel across state lines without additional charges.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, Louise

Hi,

As long as the rentals were no more than 6 months ago or booked through a third party agency then we can add them to your Sixt account. If you want to send me a private message with the reservation numbers and your account number I shall get this sorted for you.

Many thanks, Louise.

Hi,

If you collect your vehicle from Brussels you can drive to both France and Holland without additional charges. There will only be charges if the vehicle is left in either of the two countries.

I hope this helps.

Many thanks, Louise.

Just a quick note to say that Louise was able to sort out my issue and she did so with great professionalism and efficiency.

Many thanks and she has retained me as a Sixt customer due to this great customer service.

Rental in LHR vs St Pancras

Hello,

I was looking to rent a car for 7 days, renting in London and returning to Manchester, and is there is a reason the prices are so different depending on whether i first rent from LHR vs another city location, such as St Pancras? The specific car class I am looking at - ILMR - is about £21 more per day from St Pancras (which really adds up)...

Also, I understand I can request a car make when I make a reservation - is there any way to check the inventory of the BMW 1 series at the LHR location?

I'd like to try Sixt, but am also tempted by the convenience of the avis Select program where they'll guarantee a specific model.

Thanks!
