Hi, I have a prepaid reservation for a PDAR out of EDI next May, for a one week vacation. Sample car is MB E or BMW5. Is there any risk of not getting one of those two ? Unless I am comped to a ML or a X5, my all time favourites :D ?

From what I've seen at EDI lately, there's a few 5 Series kicking about the place, including either an M550d, or just a regular 5 with M Sport trim.

Definitely one or two E-Class Estates about the place too.
And a big white ML, not seen any X5 though.

The Mercs are indeed face lifted ones, no idea about engines in either them or the 5 Series, sorry. But expect 520d and E220CDI or something for diesels, and around 520i and E200 for petrol. You may get something higher performance, but I wouldn't count on it, and tbh, in my experience those ones are plenty of car anyway ;)

I get banished to the Vauxhall Astra every single time, but always a different one!

Thanks !!! I'll make do, whatever I get. Still better than any Astra, I can get that right. Which is why I book higher:o. Do not want to rely on may be upgrades.

I will travelling to Germany this coming week (my first time ever)I just made a prepaid online booking for the CCCC Sixt promotion in Düsseldorf (from 30th April till the 5th May). As I am only able / familiar with driving an auto vehicle, would it be possible that Sixt arrange an auto car for me? I have ticked for an auto vehicle in the extra/wishlist section.

How likely is this to happen for me? If you need any other informations do let me know or pm straight away. Thanks

Hi Gary I have had a problem with Sixt Coventry on some auto charging issues.

I had several issues with the charging of £ 1000 deposit for 15 working days to a debit card but those charges eventually dropped off.

I then had another problem I cant seem to solve, about a wrong penalty charge notice from hammersmith council for being in a box ( I have an explanation that would see the appeal win I would believe surrounding medical reasons )

Sixt auto paid this, the lady says I signed up to that deal ( to save me paying double cos of timescales ) with an admin fee added of 36 pounds.

I went to Hammersmith council to appeal and they tell me that since its paid I had admitted guilt and therefore cannot appeal.

Most people are telling me that car hire companies should not pay these and in fact give my name to the council for me to pay it if I agree, allowing me to appeal, but since you only get to charge this admin fee only if you pay on my behalf car hire firms are introducing this new policy, but its stopping me appealing.

Do you have any advice how this chicken and egg situation can be overcame please ?

Loyal Sixt costumer here, I have a bunch of bookings coming up in the next couple of months, one of them is in CHQ on June 2, when i originally booked I had the option of choosing an convertible but opted for the more sensible option of an CCMR.

a couple of days passed and a friend posted his convertible rental in spain on facebook, I decided that I too would like a convertible rental in sunny Crete and went online at sixt.dk and try to book the convertible but I do not have that option now, I can only choose the CDMR Peugeot 308 :( .

Why is that and can somebody help get me in to an convertible and maybe also tell me what I should expect in CHQ, I know it is an franchised location.
