Hi gary thank you so much for your help, it's truly what sets Sixt apart from the competition, I will NOT be looking elsewhere to rent the vehicle I requested, simply because the great service you provide is second to none.

Any plans on opening a branch in the Bay Area?

Hello,

I rented a car for 5 days and I'd like to extend my rental for more 14 days for the same rate. Is that possible? Do I need to call or just keep the car?

Hi,

I'm glad to find this forum speaking about Sixt. I was looking for it.

I had great time with Sixt as I had very bad time. Unfortunatly, almost without answer.

For now, I'm looking for someone who can fix me some bills with weird balance.

And I would like to rent luxury, but I don't know where.

Thx for your help

Eh, call your branch. Number should be on the rental agreement.

If you just don't bring it back you'll probably run into all kinds of trouble. And rightly so.

Excessive repair charge from recent rental

I have just received a repair bill from Sixt. Not only do I not believe that I caused the damage, but the bill is totally out of proportion. Some superficial hubcap scratching to one wheel has been billed at 382 CHF, including 120 CHF admin fee and 37 CHF loss of use fee.

A little googling reveals that a set of 4 new hubcaps ("Radkappen" in German) cost about 45CHF in Switzerland and fitting all 4 takes an expert about 3 mins.

Furthermore, I haven't received an actual bill, but an estimate, so probably they haven't even repaired this (in spite of a month having passed since the rental). Thus it is very hard to believe any loss of use costs have occurred.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to deal with this?

Hey.
I am an Israeli citizen and was wondering wether, and how, I can rent a car at Munich, Germany.
It seems to be an issue because I am not yet 20 years old.
When I tried to rent a car in sixt.com, the best group that I was able to get at my age was the CPMR which has BMW 1er, Audi A3 and some other similar cars.
Is it possible to get a better group for more money somehow?

So, quick Question with my Rental at LAX in July: Its going to be Category BMW X3 and others...As a Platinum, I am entitled to an Upgrade, right? But they told me (via Mail), that the Upgrades do not work on specific Categories - which, how funny, do include SUV's...So I dont get an Upgrade, do I?

Upgrades at Munich East Train station

I just booked IDAR category at Munich East Train station for 8 days rental. I have Sixt platinum status and was told that I can ask for at least one class upgrade. What type of car I might expect with this booking (only automatic)? Should I request upgrade in advance or it can be done at the time of pick up?

No problem minimum age with Sixt in Germany is 18 for classes up to and including CP(M/A)R, BMW 1er, Audi A3, Mercedes A-Class. There is a young driver surcharge of 10€ per day which caps at 50€ per rental.

That is the highest group you may reserve at your age, however, that does not necessarily mean you cannot end up in something from a higher class.

You may be very lucky and get a free upgrade to something bigger, or alternatively, and more likely, you may be able to take a Choice-Upgrade and pay a reduced fee to move to a higher class.

Neither of these two things is guaranteed however. You never know though ;)

I've never heard that some categories are excluded. Maybe they are.

But as a rule of thumb, as a platinum member, you are entitled to a one-class upgrade, if available. It is not a guaranteed upgrade. But there is usually a good success rate of getting some kind of upgrade.

IDAR in Germany will be a VW Passat auto saloon or similar thing, so an upgrade could be anything from IWAR (Passat estate), to SDAR (Volvo S60 / Skoda Superb) in most situations. It could be something better, maybe, maybe not.

In my experience Sixt staff are very good about sorting platinum upgrades out in advance, without you having to do anything. Especially in Munich where they have a lot of cars!

Just remember it's only an if available upgrade, so they will if they can ;)

Does anyone know what cars are CPMR in Frankfurt, Germany? Sixt.com says "BMW 1er or similar vehicle".
