I read somewhere and others have mentioned that UOB PPV doesn't yield 4miles when paying bill. Not even through vbox.

Re: The 'Best credit cards for KF miles accrual' master thread

Try using The American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card which has a earning rate of 1 KrisFlyer mile for every $1.20 spent. However, it is giving a bonus of 5,000 KrisFlyer miles on signup and 2x KrisFlyer miles on all eligible purchases made in the first 3 months, up to a cap of 10,000 bonus miles as part of its promotion. It also awards a bonus of 300 KrisFlyer miles for every additional $500 you spend in the same month with a minimum spend of $1,000 in a calendar month. This translates to an earn rate of 2.217 miles for every $1 spend if you spend exactly $12,000 (earn 26,600 miles) in a single month. This excludes the 5,000 bonus Krisflyer points that you get on signup.

A very good deeal IMO

ANZ Mid Year Promotion - "Get up to S$50 cash credit every week.
Enjoy S$5 cash credit every time you charge S$100 or more to your ANZ Credit Card and up to 10 redemptions or S$50 cash credit each week. Promotion is valid from 1 May to 30 June 2013 and open to all Principal and Supplementary Cardmembers of ANZ Credit Cards issued in Singapore and excludes ANZ Corporate Credit Cards. The total number of redemptions is limited to 30,000 throughout the promotion period, treated on a first-come-first-served basis, while stocks last. Each successful redemption will be awarded with 260 bonus Rewards Points/1050 bonus Travel$, which can be used to redeem S$5 Cash Credit from the ANZ Rewards Programme."

The bonus 1050 Travel$ was credited on 22 August 2013!! Called up ANZ to check the Travel$ balance today. All transactions qualified regardless of when you made the transactions!! I made a total of 11 $100 transactions during the promotion, the last SMS was on 29 June 2013. Total bonus Travel$ credited was 11x1050=11550!!!

This has been mentioned in this thread :) I opted to pay S$256.80 and got the 5x bonus promo with the free Samsonite luggage. Not to shabby I would say. But I ditched the card since I accumulated S$7,500 (which is the max cap).

PM me with your name and contact no. :)

Is it worth to pay the ANZ Travelers card annual fee for 12,000 miles? Or I should just ask them to waive it off?

Definitely worth it. Go for it.

UOB Signature Card

Looks like I will now have to take this card out of the drawer. UOB has just announced changes to UNI$ earned for this card.

10x UNI$ or 20 miles per $5 spent on overseas transactions subject to minimum $1,000 of foreign currency spend per statement and 10x UNI$ on petrol subject to minimum of $1,000 spend per statement. Everything else, a lousy 1x UNI$ per $5.

Specially for this card, option to convert to cash at rate of 2,000UNI$ to $50. This seems to be the card to now use for overseas holidays and petrol. :)

Interesting, but it seems that one has to spend at least S$1000 in foreign currencies in a mth so as to obtain 10x UNI$ for both foreign and petrol spending. I'm assuming that an average person doesn't pump $1000 worth of petrol in a mth.

I would hope that UOB extend the reward redemption of 2000 UNI$ = $50 cash rebate to other cardmembers too.

Not only that, but I do believe it is limited to $2000 per month - which is VERY restrictive!

The axe falls...

SCB HK 6X (2.5 mile/S$) card to be discontinued 18 Nov 13

May have something about Amex slimming down on all fronts. Beware UOB PRVI may go likewise.

Strange, and they launched SPG Amex in Japan. But yeah, guess when the time comes, we'll have to redeem all the points.
