In the mid-range of properties (not in the lower bracket such as Hyatt House/Hyatt Place/Caption but also not higher bracket like Park Hyatt/Alila/etc), I'd probably put Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA as my personal "Gold Standard" hotel in the mid-price range.

Perhaps part of it has to do with the fact that I frequent the property, but the management there truly knows how to reciprocate loyalty. I've mentioned it before in the thread specific for the property, but Piotr is notch when it comes to recognizing Globalists. It's because of him that I haven't considered trying any of the other Hyatt properties in San Francisco, East Bay, Peninsula, or South Bay (in SF Bay Area) yet, even though there are so many to choose from.

I am consistently taken care of warmly, thoughtful amenities are left in the room, and I am very often upgraded into a suite without needing to ask (when the property is not over capacity). I do not feel like the property holds back on me in order to extract every dollar they can from me, and are rather fair. The hard product is solid for what the price range is (outside of when it gets REALLY busy during tech companies' onsite season and therefore VERY pricey).

That being said, the property isn't without its faults - the FD staff can come across inexperienced sometimes and I have read some recent reviews on the slight pullback in the quality of the buffet (nothing horrible though). I personally do not eat at most US-based Hyatt's clubs/lounges/buffets and opt to try the local eats - the only exception being restaurant/in-room dining at the more upscale-luxury brands like Park Hyatt - so it's not something I've noticed too much.

Two that come to mind in this category are:

al and may not be broadly applicable, but I've stayed here several times since I often pass through YYC on my way to the Canadian Rockies and I'll stay near the airport for a night if I'm arriving on a late flight. The staff are nice and they always gave me an upgraded room, but now as a repeat guest I consistently get a suite (despite no requirement for Hyatt Place to upgrade at all), and the last time I stayed a few months ago they even left some snacks as a welcome gift. While it's not a physically perfect hotel (the location is a little awkward and in my latest stay the shower took several minutes to heat up), I get the sense of genuine effort, in the spirit of this thread.

.
Who Knew Hyatt Place could get so much love lol
Good to know I suppose they do have their good ones too!Its also good to get other perspectives so Thank You
Sometimes I'm stubborn to leave my 4 or 5 star properties but they absolutely can make solid sense.
Even I'll admit I will do a Hyatt House when it comes down to a new build and
a location when I have a meeting that will save me some travel time in the AM

The first and only immediate example that comes to my mind is Park Hyatt Jakarta - I liked it so much that I went back later in the week on the same trip. Ill have to do some more thinking on this

Edit To Add: Alila Shanghai (still using their nice luggage tag and best breakfast Ive had in China) and maybe HR Churchill (though, I think HR Churchill is more just because I like the product)

Edit 2: Hotel du Louvre - great premium suite upgrade (I rarely get these), overly fair compensation for shortening checkout time in said suite, and just overall friendliness

Edit: In NA, probably PH Toronto - they did a lovely birthday cake for me one year and the breakfast is great

I was last in PH Toronto before the renovation and got to stay in a sample suite that was part of a test room of what the end product would be.
Be fun to go back and see if any of my feedback was used!
Breakfast was great and glad to hear it’s held up

House cookies refreshed in room every day. Held luggage for us for a few days when we were returning.

Could the breakfast quality be better and be less crowded? Certainly, and same for the lounge, and yes, some rooms have the musty smell. But purely for treatment, I'm generally pretty happy there.
agree on GH Taipei. Last stay had family members in two other rooms with exec lounge access and proactively offered to give all rooms breakfast at restaurant. Also upgraded to a premium suite.

PH Siem Reap put me in a premium suite with plunge pool for a week-long stay.

Part of the problem with threads like these is that you only REALLY know if a hotel treats Globalists consistently well if you return more than once. But then you become a more valued frequent guest, where any decent hotel will make an extra effort.

It would almost be better if the thread was about hotels that under-perform, no matter how many times you stay. Then you can almost guarantee that it will be stingy for a one-off stay.

HR Columbus. Great upgrades including suites. Coupons for 2 free apps in bar. Breakfast buffet and free valet on award stays that average 8000 pts a night. Never a problem with late checkout and almost always can check in early.

I imagine that as this thread grows, if you have several people nominating a particular property without anyone voicing disagreement, then that would inherently address this objection.

Re PH Auckland, same experience as LTG back in October 2023....... literally perfect in every facet.

Had a wonderful stay with lots of personal attention last May...... don't really get the hate on this place from so many others. Maybe a non-elite issue?
Def want to get back to check out the JA rest

Recent stays in no particular order....
1.) Hyatt Centric Lima San Isidro - PH quality service throughout the stay
2.) PH London - read lots of bad on this board, but received premium treatment from advanced emails to checkout. Sent my daughter and her BF there on a SUA award (after contacting the hotel in advance) 6m later and they got the same.
3.) Thompson Palm Springs - upgraded to large suite with constant personal attention.

This and its sister hotel across the street are great places to use AMEX FHR credits. Sunday nights, at least this time of year, are generally a little shy of $300, so are a wash with the AMEX $300 credit. You get a $125 credit that can be used at their excellent restaurant Piper. You get free breakfast. If you are a globalist, they waive resort fees. And you get a night's credit for the stay.

Hyatt Danang, Vietnam
I stayed over the yearend holidays. I used a suite upgrade and was upgraded further beyond the standard suite to an ocean view suite. Their lounge is excellent with great offerings both for breakfast and in the evening.

Hyatt Phnom Penh, Cambodia
I used 2 category 1-4 FNC so was unable to apply my own suite upgrade. I was upgraded to a standard suite. We love their executive suite and asked if it was possible. We were told yes if we would wait as guests had just vacated it and it needed to be cleaned. We waited in their very nice lounge, enjoying evening snacks, til they came to find us and escort us there.

My first stay, they gave me a Partial Ocean View Studio, on a very busy summer night. Staff are incredibly welcoming and kind. FDA this evening walked me to the elevator, then personally delivered my valet ticket to my room a few minutes later. Looking forward to the excellent (full) breakfast tomorrow.

Really can't say enough good things about this property.
I second this recommendation. Apart from one occasion always been exceptional. Always upgraded to a suite (including a second room upgraded to a suite for my son!). Also don't cheapskate on the restaurant. We took some friends to weekend brunch once and expected to be charged for the 2 extra guests. They waived the extra with a smile.

Centric Murano (venice-area) - was upgraded to a really cool suite for 2 nights, bottle of champagne + snacks on welcome night, bottles of wine on 2nd night!
Andaz Prinsengracht (Amsterdam) - bottle of the local alcohol + stroop wafels + cookies + upgraded suite.

Thompson Palm Springs. Additional upgrade over SUA. Breakfast charges wiped out way over imposed Globalist allowances. Good service with an emphasis on Globalists. Good F&B program in general.

Hyatt Regency Zurich. Regency Executive Suite as part of upgrade pool. Very good breakfast at Babel. Good service and open Regency Club (despite the non-existent hot offerings)
