I recently did this, a few notes:
As reported upthread, I wasn’t allowed into The Pier F until 00:00. It sounded like a hard limitation (I was told I couldn’t be checked in the device until then).
The Centurion lounge denied entry until 3 hours before the flight time, but the Chase Sapphire Reserve lounge allowed entry.
The Pier F closed at 1:30AM (dining closes earlier), at which point I wandered the terminal for 1.5 hours. Sky Garden and Sky Bridge were both underwhelming but got some steps in.
There are now two 24hr Plaza Premium Lounges. The one at Gate 1 is marginally nicer than the one at Gate 60 but they’re both fairly dismal. They told me that my Priority Pass allowed a maximum stay of 2 hours. To be honest it was quite amusing how much trouble they’d gone to in order to make the lounge as unpleasant as possible at night.
2 hours got me to 5AM at which point the Cathay lounges were about to reopen and I was sick of Bossa Nova and uncomfortable armchairs by that point, so that was fine. Day rooms were available so I napped for an hour or so. Then had some breakfast and boarded my long haul flight.
To be honest it all worked out absolutely fine and I would be just as happy on an 08:00 flight to London over the traditional 00:30 flight now. Being kicked out of the CX lounges for 4 hours wasn’t the end of the world, the time passed quickly.
Would have been a very different story if I had really needed to sleep from midnight to 8am - like if I had a shorthaul connection. I don’t think that’s possible and in that situation you'd be mad not to pay for a hotel.

Because I am going to have an overnight HKG transit from CX F to CX J, and not sure if the 00:00 rule applies to CX-CX transit as well or it only applies to transit between oneworld members.

Overnight CX Transits Now Get Pre-Midnight Lounge Access
CX now permits lounge access for overnight transits before midnight.
Both The Bridge and The Pier F are open until the last flight departs (~2:30 AM). I was granted entry at 11 PM.
A lounge host indicated this is due to a recent oneworld policy change (?), not just a CX discretion.

I would think regala skycity hotel is walkable via t2 into sky11 and then regala skycity hotel or whatever it's going to be called once finished and linked up

Thanks. Yeah, maybe I just have to start walking the extra distance to Regala or Marriott instead of waiting for the Regal to be renovated...

1. refer to the below from OW:
https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounge-results
"Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights: First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 06:00am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa)."
2. Refer to previous discussion about immigration procedures at HKG
TBH they could shut all of this discussion if they reopened a decent arrivals lounge

as for 2, also I saw someone saying you can just go to the transfer route and not clear immigration to get to airside?

thank you for the response. I saw that rule. But my understanding is CX is allowing people to use the lounge on arrival even if their flight is after 6 am next day? Is it because my arrival is QR not CX?

But given the recent anti-customer policy changes from CX & the stubbornness of some staff seems like you have to be pushing your luck
2 yes, you can go through transit directly
However other fellow FTers on this forum have already warned against going through transit, entering a lounge then demanding immigration clearance into HKG - it'll be a mess w.r.t. immigration policy - once you go through transit, you very nearly forfeit your opportunity to enter HKG
Besides, no CX lounge operates 24hrs, so you need to plan how to pass your time airside during those few hours...

My OWE expires on 3/31. I start travel on 3/31 with both connecting flights (in business) on Cathay, but I land in HKG at 12:05 AM on 4/1, and then connect on a flight at 1:25 PM. Since I will get my boarding passes at my city of origin on 3/31, will my boarding passes show OWE on both the boarding passes? If so, will I be allowed access to the First class lounge for my connecting flight?

It will show OWE but you will become a pumpkin at midnight (depending on your program).
When I was MH Plat my status soft landed promptly at midnight. So I think if I 1) need Flounge access 2) get loaded into ISM’s iPad for greeting I will lose my entitlements if either of these events occur after 00:00.

But the latest version of the BP will be on the lounge attendant's tablet when the physical BP's barcode is scanned, including and not limited to new seat assignments and latest pax info.

I also wonder about it, but in the case of CX, maybe the lounge receptionist will just take the lounge invitation card and let the pax go? Maybe they don't check right away? I feel the tablet held by CX lounge receptionist simply scan what is on the barcode and won't actively refresh the information unless needed?
