In that case, you can claim the money back from your credit card company instead: https://lagen.nu/2010:1846#P29S1
Regulation 261/2004 says that SAS should refund the money within seven days. Since this didn't happen, you are entitled to interest from day 8: https://lagen.nu/1975:635#P3S1
It seems that the interest only can be claimed from SAS, not from your credit card company.

I applied for a refund in April for a ticket where SAS cancelled the flight. Despite chasing many times it has still not been processed. Do the senior managers at SAS realise that regular travellers will look elsewhere for future travel. As you can see from my user name I was once an ardent supporter of the SAS brand but waiting 6 months for a refund is not acceptable. Perhaps I should launch an action in the small claims court. If anyone had any ideas I would be pleased to read them

I had a used a voucher (and cash) for a summer flight that was cancelled, but started to get up against the time deadline for when the voucher would have expired as the refunds are simply not being handled fast enough. In the end, I ended up calling up and asking to change the refund to a voucher. The request was processed in 1 week and I had a voucher for the entire amount with the later expiration date (the refund of the voucher portion would have gone back to the original date and it would have likely expired). While I am not overly happy to get a voucher for the cash portion of the ticket, it worked out well enough for now assuming that things return to normal in 2021. I am not advocating to switch to a voucher refund, but wanted to point this out in case anyone was in a similar situation.
Next worry is how to use our AMEX 2-4-1 now that our X-mas trip was cancelled. I will save that for another thread...

I am considering contacting AMEX about this to see if they would consider an extension. Even 2 months would be helpful as it would open up the chance to book a trip around next Christmas. As it stands now, I don't believe that travel will open up in spring...maybe summer is safe. That just leaves fall availability...and not a lot of holiday time to work with.

I understand that folks mostly wait for refunds (I am mostly content with vouchers).
Just as a data point: a ticket-rule based refund (flight not cancelled) - two weeks ago, have not hear anything.
Another data point: For another trip, I took a voucher offer (because my change of plans more than two weeks in advance), the voucher was in my mailbox today (ca. 24 hours).
(There are also reports in Danish media, that there is political/administrative pressure on SAS to resolve all the stale cases by the end of the year.)

I got a charbeback on my flights. I cancelled them in March and applied for the chargeback in June after SAS weren't even able to give an approximate date of refund. Not sure if SAS have paid back the credit card company yet. Chargeback is the best way to get your refund.
